Actually, the studio pianos were all in A- 432Hz. Wind and brass wouldn’t have a problem as they’re variable pitch. I wonder if folks with perfect pitch would hear the difference? I also get the lack of cogent reasoning for it, but aren’t some of us meant to be ‘artists’ ? amenable to non-conventional reasoning? I don’t get it but, that’s the reason for asking

Yesterday I was recording a few demoes with my band when the subject of tuning parameters came up. it had been suggested that we use the A @ 432Hz as the datum pitch. Can't say I had problem with it as it was such a small drop - 8Hz from 440Hz the 'standard' pitch. The singer seemed to enjoy a small amount of comfort from the change, he already tended to favour Eb as a key, Obvs the drop made no difference to the challenges of playing bass in Eb on a conventionally tuned 4 string. Has anyone else come across this? It seems to be gaining traction as an alternative to the albeit rather arbitrary A-44Hz. Any opinions /

Well, I'm back on this topic. I'm planning on adding a tone selector to my Fender P. Just not 100% sure on the cabling connections, can anyone help. Or should i get our man Klogon to sort me a loom? Thanks, Nodd

Has anyone on here got one? or had one? or had hands on experience? I missed out on buying one recently and still have a hankering. They look like a conversion to lefty without any butchering would work.

i've had mine for a few weeks now. The accompanying app matched with the amp form quite a helpful combination, Certainly useful when I had to learn a 24 song set recently.

Thanks G, good thinking. Maybe alt between P and Mud, that being maybe what I'd use more often, along with the bridge.

I have a notion to add a 'Mudbucker' to my Squier P-bass. It already has a Precision pickup in the usual position and a J pickup in the bridge position. I intend to add the Retro vibe Mudbucker at the neck in the Tele bass position. Questions: Has anyone on here added a third pick up? Anyone got any switching and control ideas? Should I use the coil tap option? keep it all passive? How do I balance or mix the pickups? Any other thoughts or considerations. Thank you in anticipation Nodd

I can't see any trace on GG or GAK. I have already read all of the articles regarding neck-dive, awkward hangs, three point bridges etc. in preparation! Hoping its gonna happen and not just the gold version.

Ah, that'll be it then! thanks, I think that was, coincidentally, when I changed over to experimenting with different coated strings and then settled omn EB's mostly. Thanks

So, having used Rotosound Swing Bass as one of my two main string choices since the 70's I ordered a set to complement my red/black burst Squier P, as they have red silks. I open the set only to find that they've been changed to Blue! Did I miss the memo? aaarrgh, OCD attack.

Hi All, I'm thinking of adding a Hipshot drop D extender to my lefty 75 P. It looks like its the BT2, am i right in concluding that it should be a 'treble side' key for lefty? Is that all I have to know? Thanks for any input. Nodd

...and sadly, hardly any of these beauts are available in lefty (Chowny excl.)

Precision bass chrome pickup cover
Nodd replied to Grassie's topic in Accessories & Other Musically Related Items For Sale
Hi Grassie, i'm on the look out for the oder style cover, it differs by having more of a right angled transition from the vertical sides to the curved top. More like |____| rather than(____) the modern one is more curved generally, no doubt saves metal! Is yours like that?any chance of a pic through it, showing front to back? Thanks, Nodd -
AKG D5 for me too, I find it easier to eq and it has a better 'default' sound.

The 4005 looks great, I've been looking at these on Ali. Can I ask where you went for yours? currently around $350 from what I see. Did you have to change the pickups? or was it just set up tweaks? Thanks, Nodd

Rechargeable power supply station....?
Nodd replied to chrisanthony1211's topic in Accessories and Misc
I bought the Harley Benton Powerbank, I've run my TU-2, Platinum EQ, Soul Food and A/B with an I-pod supplying signal, all LEDS on for over 5 hours, only just going down one bar. I've also run it through a 3 hour jam, plus 2 hour gig and still only down one bar. -
Anyone get fret buzz with Rotosound Trubass
Nodd replied to markdavid's topic in Accessories and Misc
Trubass strings have a lot less tension than Swing Bass etc. They have a wider vibration and rotation when plucked, I think you may need to increase the height of your action. -
Its a great piece of kit. We had some software issues at first, but we've been using it for more than a year now. 5 piece band 2 x geetars, bass, harp, drums and 3 x vox. It works and works hard, judicious use of channels and inputs makes it extremely adaptable. Nice and quiet on the inputs, even thro effects, I'd recommend it. makes the cable runs easier too. We considered an upgrade to the U16 but really, we haven't needed to.
