    Just out of interest does anyone use joinmyband and is it a worthwhile tool for finding a band? (Finding it hard in my new area)

    Cracking basses for the money really loved mine when I had it for a P it was far nicer than some higher priced models and much lighter! damn GAS made me sell it!

    Seen some threads on them saying the breakup kicks in pretty low and changing the 12Ax7 valves to 12AT7 to clean up the sound a little within the given head room.     Social media is a good way to get your point across most of these big companies pay attention to bookface and tw*ter a lot more than letters and emails as it reflects on them and can be seen/followed by the General public? In fact a lot of companies now have whole departments looking out for mentions of them.

    It's true and it's hard to find like minded people sometimes. Although I would be pretty happy to play anything really but a good dose of dark dirty blues rock would hit the spot right now BRMC style to name one of the many.

    I'm in the process of finding a band with moving to a new area finding one is not proving easy but as I learn when and where things are locally I should get sorted. As for GAS I have settled with my bass I find it incredibly pleasing to play and find myself just picking it up whenever I pass the room it's kept in even if I'm in a rush. As for the Amp I have traded (no cash spent) for something that took my fancy and without a big outlay I should have sold and ordered a cab also. Bored or decisive either way when I find a new band the drummer will have no problem hearing me!

    For 1099 you could always spend a little bit more and get a Dingwall Combustion or NG2 37inch scale will drop tune to Low C with ease.

    Personally I think it's good (could have been a lot worse) I think they just sound like they are enjoying playing together again. Browns solo stuff had plenty of deep and meaningful content so this doesn't need to be that! Mani is on form and his playing with the roses and primal scream has always had a certain something and he is at his best locked in with Reni! I look forward to seeing them in June and hope the album builds from this.

    So there is a small old school guitar shop in Hanley Stoke on Trent the guy has lots of secondhand gear in and usually a few basses. I popped in on lunch a few times if I could when working in the area. He had a habit of putting some of his own gear on display on the walls and one of these occasions I spotted a Gordon Smith Tbird it was his and not for sale at the time but he let me have a play and it was a real beauty! Played really well and sounded massive.
