I didn't think this day would come but I have decided to part with my Guild Starfire I have had a bad couple of months culminating in badly broken ankle so needs must. I am starting to get a bit more mobile now it's been a month since my surgery I would still prefer collection but I'm willing to consider shipping at cost and with the risks fully insured if required. I will still be unable to drive for a while yet so I cannot deliver currently. This is a USA Westerly made Guild from the late 90s not a Newark reissue. These guilds were limited in numbers and I have only seen a handful available for sale. The guild website link states they have gaps in serial number date but Starfire 4 (do not list a Starfire II) in 1996 end at AG000219 and Starfire II start in 1997 at AG300001 so my guess would be late 1996 but I cannot prove this. The bass is in amazing condition just some slight pitting/tarnishing on hardware no dents or big marks just some light scratches and tiny marks (I would say near mint for a 30yesr old bass) most I have seen for sale have damage at the jack socket but not on my bass. It's a semi hollow flame maple body, sides and back with a mahogany/maple/mahogany neck short 30 3/4" scale. Grover tuners, metal saddle bridge and Guild pickups. I will say it's not a light bass but on a wide leather strap is perfectly manageable. Comes with its case one key, hang tag and book. My kettle still works if you want to come try the bass. I'm assuming I have priced this to high so will bring it down to £1900 is the lowest I will go as I would rather keep it it's a really great bass. I would be open to a cheaper short scale bass or medium scale (might consider a Pbass but that would have to be a slim neck) as a part exchange and I would also consider a rick 4001/4003. please get In touch for more details or anything really.

Old Mesa Diesel 115 EVM cab... upgradeable?
Joebethell replied to Jaybeevee's topic in Amps and Cabs
D180 don't see many of them I had a none Eq version at one stage one of those amps I should never have sold. -
Used to have a LB30 and recently sold my CTM100 as I cant see me having the need for a powerful valve amp for a while but manged to find a CTM30 at a really good price in a shop so couldn't resist(I have assumed they may be discontinuing them for the CTM30-n2 as I contacted Ashdown and very out of character had no response when I asked about the custom shop listed on the website). Hoping its as good as the LB30 or the CTM100 if its anywhere close I will be more than happy. Just need my small cab to show up now.

Custom Zoot Funkmeister 5string. This is a Zoot custom Bass built by Mike Walsh as a 5string active superJ with a solid black finish since my ownership this bass was sent back to be extensively worked on by Mike and turned into the bass as you see it now but again with my band no longer in the frame and me reaching for short scales first this is another on the list of gear to go as it is not getting used. The Bass is now a passive 5 string with Australian Jarra top Tbird custom pickups with V/V/T and push pull pots for coil options on both pickups think mike lull and your close to what this bass can do as it was inspired by my old PT5 but with a 34” scale, 20fret maple neck with 16.5mm spacing, hipshot ultralight tuners in black along with all the hardware and a really dark cherry burst type finish (difficult to picture but has a really nice depth) Weight is 10.3lbs and the nut width is 45mm. Few marks on the back bass has been gigged but in great condition comes with a well used hiscox (Zoot branded outside is near mint but the interior foam has started to come away) hard case. Collection preferred. Any questions feel free to ask open to offers not looking for trades currently. £615 as could do with the space and have a small cab on route.

Having a clear out. Postage included Really useful box can be used as a DI, attenuator to cut the overall volume on stage or so you can drive the amp harder at lower volume or a load box for a 100w 4ohm amp. Hardly used will post for asking price. Everything that makes a real amp rule over all the other alternatives is retained. You can even record silently late at night. Gone is the backache from the loadout, complaints from neighbours, venue staff or even bandmates and the frustration of not being able to sound at one’s best trying to reduce the volume. Torpedo Captor was designed to cover the needs of direct recording or miking any kind of guitar or bass amp, in a live or studio situation. Reactive loadbox: Playing silently or at low volumes is often a requirement, especially at home but more and more on stage or in the studio. To play your amp without a cabinet you need a Loadbox. Two notes is known for the most accurate and feature rich Loadboxes in the world, using the reactive technology, in other words mimicking perfectly the impedance of a speaker. Your amp will absolutely believe it’s connected to a real cabinet. Analog speakersim: When using the Captor on stage to feed a PA, you will need to polish the sound coming from your amp. The analog speaker sim is derived from the acclaimed Le Preamp series. You will be able to get a detailed and focused sound for your monitor or the front of house while keeping a low volume on stage. Add a Torpedo C.A.B. with its large collection of IR Cab Sims for the ultimate direct solution. Format and versions: The Captor is the size of a large DI box, so you can conveniently place it on your pedalboard or on top of your amp. The Captor comes in 4, 8 or 16 Ohm versions (see product options), make sure to get the one that matches with your amp. Attenuator: If you wish to keep a cabinet on stage, the Captor features a direct speaker THRU or ATT output. It allows for full volume or a fixed – 20dB attenuation. Keep your amp in its sweet spot while at manageable volumes.

Up for sale is my Ashdown Ant. Great Little amp I was using it as a back up to my main amp incase anything went wrong so it has mostly been on my pedalboard and occasionally switched on just to test etc. This is what Ashdown have to say about it. The ANT is a revolutionary pedal-board bass amp that delivers 200 watts of pure Ashdown bass tone into any 8/4 ohm speaker cabinet. Light, super compact and built for the road; fly dates are a breeze and whenever called upon the ANT will give you reliable Ashdown power and tone at every show, eliminating the uncertainty that backline amps can bring. The ANT also automatically adjusts its power requirement from 110v through to 240v so you can simply plug and play no matter what country the next show is in and the ANT will take care of it. Designed for bassists using pedals, modelers and effects processors to create their tone but can also be used totally alone with the 3 band EQ plus shape preset allowing easy tone sculpting. The balanced XLR DI out also allows you to run straight into the PA delivering your tone directly to the sound desk. Lastly the headphone out allows silent practice between gigs. Simply bring your bass and your pedalboard to the next gig for an ultra portable set up! Postage included any questions feel free to ask looking to sell not after trades currently.

Sold Up for sale is my favourite rig. I'm open to offers for a small cab along the lines of a 1x12 or 1x10 but happy to discuss. I will split or sell as a whole as I'm no longer gigging so this is fair to much rig for home use. This is a great amp I purchased in 2021 from PMT and is registered with Ashdown so had most of its 5year limited warranty left. Been gigged a handful of times so is in great condition. The cab is a 4ohm 4x10 rated at 1200watts RMS made by Mike Walsh of Zoot when he used to make amps and cabs (Purple Chilli) it's neodymium drivers so is in the low 20kgs easy to lift on your own dimensions 620mmx660mmx440mm. Please feel free to ask questions your more than welcome to come try it out but due to size/weight and the usual collection would be the best bet for this. Will consider offers on smaller cabs such as 1x10/1x12/2x10

Hi don't mind at all it's a hyperflux pickup on my bass it's pretty powerful and bright comes to life with pedals
-
From my little bit of fact checking and knowledge it appears it was developed in 1960 and introduced later the same year on EB models but I could be wrong as I'm not really an expert. Cheers

So this evening is the first chance since the weekend that I have had to do a few little jobs including bringing an old flame back into the fold. I will say I have owned this bass since 2006 but since I was in my early 20s and living at home it really hasn't been used I even made the choice to leave it at my parents home when I moved out many moons ago. I have over the last couple of years purchased far to many basses, sold far to many basses but in doing so I came across the old receipt for when I purchased this bass (again a while ago but it started the itch) which has led to this point. On Sunday I removed the bass from my old bedroom and we made the journey home. The Bass in question is a Gibson EBO that has had John Birch convert it to EB3 type specs but with his pickup and bridge and although it's been a while it is very similar condition to when I last used it in anger with crazing the faded colour to a orangy gold rather than the cherry and all the knocks and marks expected with a bass from the 60s. Today was finally time to show some TLC with new strings a gentle clean and then a really good oil of the board (not the best area to work but needs must sometimes) The bass is now looking and playing great although I have yet to play through the amp as I ran out of time but I forgot how loud the bass is acoustic the vibrations through the body is totally surprising even more so when you consider the small body. I love it can't wait to get it cranked up as I remember the Birch pickup being very hot.

It's been modified by John Birch who is a luither and is known for guitars and basses for bands like Slade some of which are his own creations others like mine where he added pickups and bridges etc. https://www.johnbirchguitarsuk.com/history

Got one, it's very loud I was recently playing in a heavy rock/metal covers band and it barely got over a quarter with my 2x12 (subjective I know but they are more than capable with a loud drummer and guitars etc) If you like the sound and can live with the eq options I can't think of a better valve head for the money. Doesn't feel very heavy to manoeuvre about either with the two handles on top

£100ono SOLD for sale is my 2x12 cab its a great bit of kit but due to no longer playing live i am letting it go. This is bascally a zilla vertical 2x12 cab turned on its side with wheels added and the blue tolex removed with a quick coat of varnish, not the best job in the world but it works. The cab is loaded with 2 Celestion BN12-300S A neodymium 12 inch bass guitar speaker that provide 600w at 4ohm weight around 25kg roughly. Collection is the option really but feel free to ask questions and discuss options with me. LE16 Leicestershire
