1. As I've just received my latest Overwater I thought I'd show them all off together. Enjoy!
2.
Ye gods, Stu... that holly looks incredible! A monster of a bass there. In a good way, of course!
I think we need to meet up and you can try her out
3. Hi, I thought I'd share a few pictures of my latest bass - an Overwater Evolution 6. It's been in the 'works' for a while and I decided not to post a build diary as I was in no rush. It's a simple beast, but sounds amazing. It features a rather rare Holly top that has no visible grain pattern which gives the impression of a painted finish - you have to look very closely to see slight wood characteristics. The holly is matched with a Walnut body and a black veneer. The full spec is below. It's a welcome additional to my bass family and I'd like to thank my good friends at OW for their patience, experience and workmanship. 4.
I'll be there wedged between Matamp and Overwater Might join Tony at the Bar, last year made me want to take up drinking
See you there then Steve! Bee good to catch up
5. Here you go guys. I'd like to stress that these are prototypes, but are very close to the finished instruments - so not many changes. Even at this stage they are fantastic and I have a particular fondness for the PJ4 If any of you guys use the images below (other web sites, blogs, forums etc) please reference and credit appropriately. 6.
This is the image in the press release so presumably this is the body shape.
Not quite... but they do look like a relation Photo's are available and when given the green light I will post them here... They look, feel and play great! Stu
7. One lucky individual has been chosen (at random) to receive a custom 30th Anniversary Overwater Bass. The winner has been informed. Thank you to all who entered - please check www.overwaterbasses.com for news and updates on the winner. We will be following the build of this very special bass closely Stu
8. There you go... Nice bass! Stu
9. Just to let you know these have now been withdrawn from sale.... I have a nice new job.... PHEW! Thanks for all the support and interest guys, it has been a tough few moths ..... I think it's now time for a new amp. Stu
10. Rick's aren't my thing but that looks great.... also Peter is a great guy! But we all know that don't we Stu
11. Morning, I'm still tempted to trade one of these for a decent combo or head and cab package with cash adjustment my way ..... any takers? Stu
12. Still looking at moving one of these. PM me for details... I may be tempted to part with my Harvest all black leather gig bag as well Stu
13. Hope the PM above means it's sold, but just wanted to add that the 200 combo is a great amp and packs a hell of a punch for it's spec. If I wasn't skint I would have bought it from John a long time ago!
14. Thanks John, I'm feeling rather pleased with myself today. There seems to be something uplifting cleaning up water, soot and other crap. Strange I know, but that's the way it is I'm keeping these up for sale but may keep them as they mean a lot to me. Stu
15. Thanks guys! As it turned out my birthday will be one to remember as when I arrived to work on the house I'm renovating yesterday morning I was greeted by water gushing through the ceiling, chimney breast and walls. A hose broke in my shower pump and I'm now faced with the cost of repairing the damage caused by the water and replacing the shower pump. So.... it seems I'm even eager to sell one of these at least. Stu
16. As it happens it's my 27th Birthday today. If any of you would like to purchase any of those 27 years PM me for a price. They've been well cared for with only a small number of years abuse while I was a student. I am a strict vegetarian who works out 5 days a week, cycles everywhere and loves playing basketball. Alternatively I'm also 6'7" and would be willing to sell a few inches of height. Stu
17. All PM's replied to guys ... thanks for the interest!
18. OH.... and depending of which bass may sell I could be open to a Part EX on a bass or an amp if that helps anyone out? I need to release some finances but don't want to be a bassless bassist!
19. Hey Geoff! How's things mate? I love both these basses and have never had a problem letting them be good examples of the Overwater J Series. My intention when having both of these built was to get the ultimate 'players bass' that could be used in all environments and gigging situations without compromise. There are without doubt the most stable basses I have and have really enjoyed owning them. Stu
20.
That's MAD! A 5-string Jazz with 19mm spacing! Looking at these I wouldn't mind an Overwater Jazz in the future.
The Hipshot bridge has adjustment side to side so you can fine tune the string spacing Stu
21.
Sorry to hear about your situation Stu - things'll pick up for you, it's just a matter of time mate.
Thanks Alan! I've got a few things lined up and I'm still freelancing, but with a house renovation nearing completion money is tight.
Why not sell the fretless, use the cash to buy an amp. Get back out there and earn some cash through gigs
It would be my first choice but I'm literally trying to survive at the moment, pay the mortgage and work
Jeez mate, I know exactly how you feel. I hope things turn around for you soon. Things are bottoming out at the moment, so thats something at least.
Dude... I remember chatting with you the day I was waiting to find out....oh well... I'll be popping over to NZ to see you when the bank takes my house off me lol
22. Thanks for your kind words and endorsements guys. I literally have tears in my eyes
23. Hi Guys, Anyone who knows me will appreciate how hard this is for me and if there were any other option I'd take it. Times are hard and I was recently made redundant. Although I can keep hold of these I am in the situation where they are literally my biggest assets (apart from my house) and for that reason they need to go. My paid gigs ended last year when I left a covers band and I sold my bass rig in order to fund the house and because of this I haven't played these much at all.
