  1. That's not gonna be about for long! If I hadn't just have bought an American Pro, I'd be al over this. GLWTS!
  2. That’s tempting. I remember black fenders from a certain era seem to crack like this. What actually causes that cracking?
  3. I’m going to give this a go for the first time - where’s the dotted line?!
  4. What are you replacing it with? I’d be interested in a comparison!
  5. Thanks, I’ll add one to my shopping list.
  6. Is there a typo here? What are you using as a Rick o Sound box for £22?
  7. Great amps for an aggressive rock sound!
  8. Congrats! Although I’m using a Jazz Bass more of late, I still love my jetglo 4003 purchased from this very parish and occasionally take it out for a damn good thrashing!
  9. Ah well it's sold now so someone got a bargain! @Burns-bass?
  10. I doubt it, he had some other stuff up at more realistic prices.
  11. That’s gotta be a typo
  12. That's how I understand it. My VTC mod kit arrived today!
  13. Can you get rack ears for these?
  14. I spent a bit more time with mine past night and I’m more than happy. Only negative so far is the treble control which gets noisy when it’s turned up more than about halfway. I’ve got a VTC arriving today which’ll sort that in passive mode. Not sure if the new pots will improve it in active mode. The noise seems dependent on the position of the instrument, so shielding might help. The pickups sound great to me with plenty of mods to cut through. It’s nice and light at 8.4lb and the fit and finish is pretty much flawless. The neck is slim with a bit of depth to it, quite comfy for me, and I’ve got the action to a smidge below 2mm on the E at the 12th which is probably a bit low for my hamfisted technique. For £251 this was a bargain, well happy!
  15. Anyone know what year the earliest Chinese ones (with fret sprout and noisy electrics) were made?
  16. Elixir 4 string sets for £35 from Bass Direct. Postage is a fiver.
  17. Well mines just arrived. SN dates it to 2020 but surprisingly the fretwork is great. Action was really high but it’s adjusted down fine. I’ll report back when ive had more time with it but seems good so far!
  18. What’s the weight please?
  19. I’ve just pulled the trigger on a 4 string PJ for £251 at Thomann - couldn’t resist! Hopefully it’ll arrive tomorrow. If I get on with it, I might mod it with one of Sadowsky’s VTC circuits. Are the kits where you can mod the electronics easy to install or would it be better to pay more and buy the more expensive complete unit? I’m ok with a soldering iron!!
  20. Sold a bridge cover to Des. Smooth coms and prompt payment - all good!
  21. Next Tuesday I’ll be doing a trio gig as The Del Bromham Band at The Tuesday Night Music Club at Coulsdon.
  22. Thanks for this - wicked!
  23. At The Stables in MK last night.
  24. My Rickenbacker case has taken a bit of a knock. Is there any way of repairing this? Not worried about an invisible repair so long as it’s strong. No basses were harmed in this post!
  25. Had a great gig with STRAY at The Stables in Milton Keynes. We put ourselves under a bit of pressure with four numbers we’d hardly ever played or hadn’t played at all. I used my new BF Supertwin (thanks @JGSpector and GK MB500 plus a full in ear mix - the back line was for my other band members! Was the best gig we’ve played there and the second set in particular was smoking’! (IMHO!) A couple of acousticcy numbers gave me the rare chance to air my Epiphone Rumblekat which was nice. All filmed for posterity as well!
