One piece buddy

I bought a Gator hard case with it - it's a guitar case in extra long - just about fits but you have to turn the 'G' string tuner sideways!

This is a Mexican one buddy!

After a blooming long wait, I finally took delivery of a FSR Mustang, made in Mexico in Seafoam Pearl with a maple fretboard. The pearl finish is absolutely lovely. Nothing fancy about the maple board, but I'm pleased that the front is gloss whereas the back is satin. This'll probably be my number one bass for gigging with Stray. I was torn between a standard MIM and the American Performer - I was edging towards the US one for various reasons, but I'm a sucker for maple boards so when this came out I jumped on it. Its not mega light for a shortie - weighing in at 8.4 lbs - she seems to balance ok but I won't really be able to tell until she's gigged. The intonation was out a bit which I've sorted. The action was medium and neck relief just right - I've since got the action pretty low and she won't need any fettling. Sound wise, I've played with the pickup heights and been able to get the volume of the bridge pickup loud enough not to be dwarfed by the neck one so happy there, but I'm on the lookout for a SD quarter pounder set to drop in. Fret ends are all good so nothing else to do now except play her. I might replace the strings with TI flats but I'll give it a good playing in with these on first. I'm one very happy bunny!

Anyone Have a Squier Mustang SS and a Tape Measure?
King Tut replied to John Cribbin's topic in Bass Guitars
If it's any use, I have a TMB30 and it easily fits in the Fender Urban Short Scale Gig Bag. -
I was in the market for a Mustang when this came on the market. I was really torn, I was driving on my hols and going up the M1 through Rotherham where this is based so could've picked it up. BUT . . . . . I lurve maple necks and the FSR really floated my boat so that's what's won out - although I've got to wait until I get back before I can take delivery. Got to drive back through Rotherham so must resist temptation to buy another!!

Good thinking!

Resurrecting this thread. Those that have the MIM Mustang PJ's - what's the pickup balance like? Is the J pickup useable on it's own or is it overshadowed by the P? I'm wanting one of these but reading the threads over on Talkbass, it looks like the American Performer series has much more going for it in terms of how the pickups perform with each other. Admittedly they're twice the price, but I want to be sure I'm going to be satisfied with what I get . . . .

If you don't want the tug bar but also don't like the look of the undrilled body, take off the scratch plate and stick some black insulating tape under where the holes would be. This leaves it looking like the body had been drilled bit the bar taken off. And reversible!

Lovely Squier Bronco Bass in red, purchased from Big County's Scott Whitley. This bass benefits from some lovely flame on the neck and headstock. it's in very good condition with only a couple of very slight marks. The grey square thing on the scratchplate is a stick on furniture carpet protector from B&Q which I use as a thumb rest. Happy to remove before sale if required. There's a scratch on volume knob. The bass benefits from the following mods: High Mass Bridge Artec Blade style pickup The original bridge and pickup will be included. Based in Milton Keynes. Postage available at buyers risk and cost. No case available but I have packing materials. £125 firm.

Meet Veronica. She's a Japanese JB62 made for the export market with some upgrades. She's from 2007/8 and bears the 'Crafted in Japan' label. She benefits from the following alterations: Wizard 84 Pickups Badass II Bridge Vintage Style Tuners (although non reverse) from a MIJ Fender Hootenaney Button Dunlop Straplock Tuning Pegs Gorgeous Seafoam Green Nitro finish from Andy Viccars inc matching headstock '64 style decal Earthing strip removed, body drilled to accept earthing wire from bridge to cavity Cavities shielded with copper foil. Groovy Aum sticker on pickguard (happy to remove before sale) Mint pickguard imported from The States. This is a well used bass and the parts do show signs of use. By nature, nitro is a delicate finish and there are marks to the body including some light buckle rash on the back. I've tried to photograph the marks as best I can but some haven't come out as clearly as I'd liked - so maybe I should describe it as slightly roadworn. The front pot has a slight crackle. I can't guarantee the electrics are original. Reddish mark on the back of the neck - no idea what it is - been there since I've had it. Incredibly dark and lovely rosewood board She's set up with a reasonably low action. No significant dead spots or wolf tones and she's an extremely resonant bass that has received lots of compliments on her sound. I used this bass when the band I was in supported Madness at Northampton Cricket Ground! I've sold this bass on once and bought it back again, so won't be disappointed if it doesn't go. Hard to price, but looking for £650. Only trades would be something Mustangy or one of the Fusion range of GK Class D heads. Messages regarding other trades will be ignored. I'd much prefer collection from Milton Keynes so any potential buyer can check her out in the flesh, in which case she'll be supplied in a leatherette slip case. I am prepared to post at buyer's cost and risk. Most couriers won't insure musical instruments unless shipped in a hard case. A good quality hard case can be added for an extra £50. Thanks for looking.

Did you order the Serek direct from the manufacturers or are they distributed over here?
