Ashdown MiBass 550 lightweight Class D Bass Amplifier head for sale. A few marks, and some of the rubber along the runners at the bottom is coming away. Full working order. Hugely versatile preamp and enough power for small and medium gigs, or larger gigs with PA support. £150 collected from Milton Keynes or posted at buyer's risk/cost. From the website: It fits in the pocket of a gig bag. Yet it’s big enough to fill a serious venue with warm authoritative Ashdown tone. Designed from the ground up the MiBass 550 packs 550W of Class D power and a plethora of pro features in a stylish, compact bass head measuring just 8.3 x 2.6 x 6.3 inches – and that includes an internal power supply. On the front you’ll find a switchable Active/Passive instrument input, input level control that allows you to match the input signal to your bass using the trademark Ashdown VU meter. The newly designed pre amp centers on a 7 band semi parametric EQ for precision tone shaping, use the rotary controls to select frequency and the sliders to cut or boost to the exact amount needed. Add even more low end with the 'Deep' button or instantly switch to a slap happy tone by engaging the 'Shape' button. The EQ can be bypassed completely with an EQ In/Out switch, the output level controls overall volume and what could be neater than a front panel-mounted line input with level control so you can hook up an MP3 player for practicing. The pro-theme continues around the back, where combination Jack/Speakon speaker outputs share panel space with a Pre/Post switchable balanced DI output for direct connection to a PA or recording console, an FX Send/Return for adding in your favourite effects and a very useful headphone jack for silent practice. - See more at: http://ashdownmusic....h.iTD6kftA.dpuf

LH500 brooding menacingly in my rack waiting patiently for a wedding gig next week!
-
The Kings Arms in Houghton Regis. Played a couple of years ago on the saturday b4 christmas. Had a tiny set up area in front of the entrance to the loos. A lot of the people were paralytic, several fights were on the verge of erupting and it was all just very intimidating. Some of my mates have had good gigs there but I vowed not to go back. Felt very uncomfortable.
I've just found out I'm seeing them twice next week. I know about the Roundhouse, I've the tickets for ages, but I am visiting a friend in Macclesfield for a couple of days to make a radio programme with him, and he just told me he has two tickets for the Buxton gig on Tuesday! Looks like a week to remember coming up!!
Enjoy mister - if they were as good as they were at The Roadmender, you're in for a real treat! They started with an acoustic set - here's my phone footage of Psi Power https://youtu.be/jEL4PYnu6DA

Here's me back in the day using one. I used to tune EAEG then put a capo across the top two strings so I could get a drone thing going on. It worked well in the intro and quieter bits of this song which aren't really shown In this vid! https://youtu.be/lWMl9ItXb8E
Saw them many times while Alan Davey was with them, now he had a killer sound and style. His solo stuff is pretty good too.
I was lucky enough to support Alan's band 'Gunslinger' when they played in Milton Keynes. He borrowed my cab! Lovely bloke!
Nothing on YouTube?
Here ya go - you can hear him powering away and see him occasionally! https://www.youtube....h?v=KDWC11hjVxI I've got some phone footage I'll put up when i have time! Went to see Hawkwind at Northampton's Roadmender. Stunning show, tight n powerful with lots of old classics. The new material stood up really well too. I was really impressed with their bassist - Haz Wheaton. He's nailed Lemmy's tone and style from the Space Ritual era. If this is your bag, try and catch them, they're on great form!
Get your band to carry your own stage lights.
I do the lights and we've got enough. My eyesight isn't what it was and I don't like to wear specs on stage. I still find it difficult at times. Particularly with this bass. -
MY AVRI 64 reissue Jazz is a fabulous beast. However, the neck side position markers aren't white - they're almost the same colour as the wood. On a dark stage I have trouble navigating my way around. I've tried luminous stickers (by the people who do the ceiling pixie dust stuff - Starglow) but found they didn't stay attached. Has anyone got any tips for something that'll stick on or other ways of making them more visible without spending too much or drastically altering the aesthetic of the instrument? Thanks in advance.
