  1. Thanks dude, looks like a bargain. Unfortunately, with my little paws I'm into jazz type necks.
  2. Not light but definitely not a boat anchor. What's it like neck wise? More like a J or a P?
  3. Not sure what my model is offhand, but it's a pretty top end model with zebrano top. As per the previous poster I've fitted an Artec pre, volume, blend bass and treble, and it's absolutely transformed the bass. I'm about to put a glockenclang in, purely for the passive bypass, but the Artec will deffo be goi g into something else. A cheap and easy fix!
  4. I use a pair of these as my rig and very happy - free bump!
  5. I think that all that wear must mean it's been well used . . . . Which must mean someone liked it enough to play it endlessly . . . .which means it's probably a really good bass! Not a six stringer type myself but if I lived closer I'd deffo consider this for something different!
  6. What's the neck width like on this? More akin to a J or a P?
  7. I bought an Akai Unibass from Woody. Arrived promptly, professionally packaged and probably in better condition than described. Deal with confidence :-)
  8. This is really sad but probably inevitable for one who's lived so hard and fast. One of my heroes for sure but the body just can't take the kind of abuse he's given his without paying the price. God bless.
  9. Just found this . . . . Pretty useful . . . . A, B, C and D are widths not shapes! http://www2.fender.com/en-GB/support/articles/guitar-neck-shape-v-c-u/
  10. Great stuff Manton Customs. It's hard to picture how a C neck would be different from a U or D neck. Help me out here. . . . . A typical 60's Precision would have a . . . . . . . . Shaped neck A typical 70's Jazz would have a . . . . . . . .. . . . . Shaped neck A typical 60's Jazz would have a . . . . . . . . . . . . .shaped neck stingray has a . . .. . . . . . Shaped neck.
  11. It would be pretty cool, I think, to have a thread on here regarding neck dimensions. I'm interested in fender, but could easily include other makes. For instance, what exactly is meant by a 'B' shaped neck or a 'C' shaped neck. When a neck radius is given, is its the radius of the fingerboard, or the back of the neck. Even if it's not made a sticky, could folks discuss the above paragraph to help me understand/describe? Also, neck depths . . advantages/disadvantages/examples . . . .
  12. Bought a Musicmaster bass from Dunc. Good comms, promptly sent and well packed. Good seller :-)
  13. I had one of these. Great basses and free bump!
