1. Yeah, I front our trio, guitarist does BV's. I love singing but it took ages for me to be any good with or without a bass. I got pressured into singing and playing years ago when i wanted to introduce one of my original numbers into the band i played bass for. They told me they'd only play it if I sang it. And it started from there. The more i use it the better it gets, but i find i have to use it fairly regularly for it to stay good - i regularly sing along to songs we do, in the car. helps me to remember lyrics as well :-)
2. Can you post a better pic of the crack in the neck please. Is this a flaw in the wood, or the result in a knock or being dropped?
3. What's the neck like in terms of width? Comparable to a P or a J or an inbetweeny?
4. I've no experience of the B3, but I use a B1on as my regular gigging fx unit. I've tried many different units but found this one to be the most convenient. The plastic case is not an issue. Mine gets stomped on and abused regularly. The effects sound great, it's versatile, will run off batteries for festies etc and fits in the front pocket of my gig bag. As a singing bass player, I haven't got the concentration to use lots of different sounds on a song, but I do have it set up so that if I need to I can change from clean to distortion mid song etc. only shortcoming in my opinion is lack of a Di.
5.
Weight is 10.5kg inc case. Just had the neck off and truss rod does go in both directions. Ta!!
I know they can be heavy but 10.5 KG???? Thinking you mean 10.5 lb! Good luck with the sale, I have a 76 which is an absolute peach of a P!
6. Cheers Ghost Bass. Ordered the non stacked and gonna have an extra hole routed for the jack. Gonna get a seafood green nitro refinish inc headstock while I'm at it :-)
7. Just ordered the flock from the link Japan Axe posted to fit in my favourite Jazz . . . .
8. I sold a MM Sterling to Chris today. He's been on the site for a while now but doesn't post much and has no feedback. We arranged to meet partway for a cash deal. Communication was good and meeting and transaction went ahead as planned. A nice bloke and good to do business with.
9. I'll take em mate. Message me your bank details and I'll wazz payment across. Is postage extra?
10. Well Scoop she's meeting her new owner tomorrow . . . . If it falls through I'll let you know!
11. Absolutely loving my new Sandberg VT and really impressed with the pre . . . . Particularly the ability to go passive and retain tone control if I wish. Does anyone know if the preamp is available from anywhere as a separate unit so I could mod one of my Jazz basses to the same spec?
12. Sandberg . . . Either a VM or TM . . . . So that's equivalent to P/MM or J/MM. The MM pickup splits into a J and they will go fully passive inc tone control in addition to the really musical active pre. Under a grand second hand or imported.
13. I just added a second Eden EX112 to my set up. I had one cab for small gigs and heard that two could sound awesome. Gigged it on Saturday and amazed. This was with a GK500 head.
14. Chrisplum . . . . Replied, yup still for sale :-) . . . . Scoop . . . No original case I'm afraid but will throw in a gigbag.
15. Agree totally LW. Not saying one's right or wrong. Was purely canvassing for opinion on whether the Streamer was as different as the other Warwicks. Trying one out soon answered that and for ME it is an influencing factor. Shame cos I love the look, quality and sound of Warwicks.
