Would this be why none of the class D stuff I've tried ever seems to have that indefineable goodness I can get from my old Trace AH250£

We use two of these, http://www.thomann.de/gb/stairville_xbrick_fullcolour_16x3w.htm With occasionally some showy stuff at the back facing the audience and haze. Small and easy to use. We're only a trio though so not many of us to light up!

Behringer xm8500. Suits my voice better than a 58. Had two of these for 7 or 8 years as spares, they now get used in preference, one for me vox and one in the kick. Still going strong!

Not sure if I'm ok to post this as technically advertising for a non bass playing relative. Mods - please delete if not appropriate. An 'E Serial' Fender Jazz Bass Special. Made in Japan in a kind of metallic pink with black neck and headstock. My cousin asked me if i knew anyone interested in buying it so I've given it a good look over had the neck off to adjust truss rod. I can list the details and pass on a phone no if anyone's interested. Generally the bass is sound although not in fantastic cosmetic condition. Worst of all is a dink/split between two of the pots - pictured. The neck is ok and nothing on it to affect playability. Truss rod works fine. The 'P' pickup isn't working. Wiring inside the cavity looks ok so either a wire is off the pup, the pickup itself is dead or, my hunch is, the selector switch is knackered. Tuners all work ok. Bridge all works but is quite corroded as is the neck plate. Assorted knobs! It wouldn't cost much to get this cleaned up and playing well. It's not overly heavy, and sounded pretty resonant with no extreme dead spots noted. I suggested selling as seen for £350. Sorry about the quality of the pics, but just had me phone. Message me if you're interested and I'll pass a number on. The bass is based in Letchworth, but that's too far for me to go back for more pics I'm afraid. If I wasn't trying to slim my collection down I'd have had it myself! How to get 'new' strings in 2 mins (without boiling or cleaning)
King Tut replied to Drax's topic in General Discussion
I sometimes put mine in a stone polisher (cylindrical rotating drum) with some white spirit for about 15 mins. Brightens em up for a bit. Not sure how much of the dullness is due to grime in the windings and how much is due to over stretchedress (new technical term there). My method will clean em but can't take out the stretch obviously! -

Hi Pestie . . . . age, unknown, I've had it since at least 2010 and I got it from cash converters, but it's in pretty good nick. It's hard to say how easy something is to use. You essentially have 50 programs each with a part a and a part b. For each program and part you can pre set a key signature and define two harmonies to be added to that part. It also has three different reverbs, although ~I can't remember whether they are programmable. If you want to use it live, you will need to find a footswitch that works with it . . . trial and error I'm afraid. I used the behringer footswitch that comes with their v-amp pedal, or maybe the original footswitch is still available from Digitech. So you program it all up, set the program before you start the song, then when you want the harmony you hit the footswitch. You need too have set the program to the key signature the song is in. If you're using it for recording you probably don't need the footswitch. I found it pretty easy to use and I'm an old git with only five o levels ;-) Colin

Hi, I'm in the market for a new MacBook as my old one is getting pretty tired. I have logic installed on a Mac mini and my MacBook. I spoke to an advisor at the Apple Store today and asked if I could uninstall on my old MacBook and reinstall on a new one, as the license only allows you to run the software on one main and one laptop computer. He told me that I couldn't do this and essentially I would have to buy a new copy of Logic X which seems bloody ridiculous to me, as I only want to run it on two computers. Is he right, or can anyone advise me of a workaround on this. In layman's terms please. I'm not computer illiterate but neither am I a whizz kid. With thanks in anticipation, Colin
