1. Sold Ted a bass. Arranged to meet where I was playing a gig in London. Ted turned up on time and deal was done with a minimum of fuss. Nice bloke, good to do business with :-)
2. Sold Davy a Yamaha Five String. Good communication all round and didn't mess me about at all. Deal done with minimum of fuss. Happy days :-)
3. Had some interest but dropped out bumpage . . . .
4. Beautiful sunburst Yamaha five string with gold hardware. Overall in great condition with a few slight marks, the worst of which are pictured close to the jack socket. Active two band EQ, Alder body with nice grain showing and a few little bits of flame on the neck. Great player with a lovely low action. A little bit of silver is showing through the gold on the machine heads. Stupidly low price which is firm as I'd rather keep it than go lower. Would prefer collection from Milton Keynes but will ship insured at cost if you can give me time to source suitable packing. Currently fitted with dunlop strap locks but will come with conventional strap fittings. 5. I've not played a 605 but I've got a bbg5s. It's the second one I had and I really love it. Fives aren't for me though so watch this space. I don't think k it was very high up in Yamaha's range but both of mine were put together with the typical yamaha quality you'd expect. Nice even tone across the board and plenty of tonal variation!
6. Well Walbassist. That's a good question and one I've never been asked before. I never noticed it being neck heavy, but you made me wonder if that's why I don't take it out too much. So I strapped it on. Hmnnnn . . . does it hang lower I asked myself? I wasn't sure, so I made a pen mark on the wall where the top of the headstock sat, then strapped on my favourite Jazz that I take out all the time and did the same. It sits exactly the same as my fave Jazz so I'd say no, not neck heavy. It's the neck width that swings it for me :-)
7. For Sale - Behringer EP2500 Power Amp. This is a loose copy of the QSC RMX2450. Obviously you shouldn't take too much note of Behringer's specs in terms of the power rating, but these are renowned to be pretty loud for your buck, and the amps don't seem to be as prone to Behringers 'el cheapo' reputation as some of their other stuff. Details from Behringer below . . . = EP2500: 2 x 1,200 Watts into 2 Ohms; 2,400 Watts into 4 Ohms bridged operation = 2-channel, parallel or bridged mono operating modes for flexible application = Independent limiters for each channel offer dependable protection against distortion = Precise signal and clip LED indicators to monitor performance = Selectable low-frequency filters (30 Hz or 50 Hz) remove distracting infra-sound frequencies = Professional connectors, compatible with Neutrik Speakon connectors, and "touch-proof" binding post loudspeaker outputs enable secure operation = Balanced XLR and 1/4" TRS inputs = Connection option for extra amps in parallel operation = Ultra-reliable Toshiba/Fairchild high-power transistors = High-current toroidal transformer for absolute reliability and lowest noise emission = “Back-to-front” ventilation system including air filter with automatically adjusting fan speed for smooth operation = Independent DC and thermal overload protection on each channel automatically protects amplifier and speakers This hasn't had a great deal of use, but it HAS been totally reliable and effortlessly run a full outdoor PA inc one channel running a pair of 4 ohm subs at 2 ohms.
