Well the pot is there to vary the output of the active circuit to balance it to the volume of the bass if used passive, so I'd very much doubt the box is designed to come out.

Steve Askew plays bass in a local covers band called Bad Hombre. Went to watch them on Saturday night as I never had a gig.

I've got an old Laney Supergroup 100 valve head which I believe is what Geezer and Tony Iommi both used back in the day.min terms of distortion, this thing gives that tone naturally without any pedals in front of it. Great rock amp but no good for clean sounds if you want decent volume levels . . . .

I had a new 4003. Hated it and traded it on. I later tried a mate's 1976 4001. Very difficult to quantify the difference but it's lovely. Seems to sit better on me although I can't work out why, and lovely slim neck. I've taken the pickup cover off and fitted one of those rubber thingies that fills the hole and gives u a thumb rest. Love it!

I've recently been getting more into recording using Logic on my 2009 macbook (2.13 ghz intel core 2 duo). As my recordings get more complex, I'm more frequently getting a cpu overload message. This isn't a big problem at the moment, but I've just discovered how to add automation into my tracks and would anticipate the problem getting worse as I use more tracks etc etc. The computer has 2gb of RAM (standard), can officially be upgraded to 4 gb and unofficially upgraded to 6 gb. My questions are: 1. Would upgrading the RAM solve my system overload problems or is it time to bite the bullet and upgrade to a current macbook pro? 2. I'm using a phonic desk as an interface, connected via a firewire interface. If I bought a macbook pro, as these don't have a firewire port, how would I connect it to my desk? 3. Can of worms . . . would I be better served keeping my macbook for general computing, and buying a cheaper PC based laptop dedicated to running logic? I don't really want to get into a mac vs pc debate but could do with some unbiased informed opinion.

I ain't sure the footage matches the sound properly. Do you think the visuals might be from a different performance from the sound then edited to match?
