Score!

And there was I feeling pleased with myself for picking up an RBX 800 for £120 til I saw that! If you need any help fettling give me a shout mate - although I'm sure you'll manage - just promise you wony spray it with textured paint heh heh!!
2.
Is it accessed from the body end or the headstock end of the neck? If it's the neck, can you use a 1/4" drive with an extension bar and get a socket that'll fit? (likely to be metric on a Japanese/Korean Instrument) I can't see how you'd access a normal hex nut/bolt from the body end without a super-duper special tool... If it will take a socket as described above, don't use a long-handled ratchet, or you risk exerting too much torque on the truss rod. A "T" handled drive would be ideal.
It's accessed from the body end and I reckon I need a super duper special tool! Anyone got one??!! I could probably get a box spanner on it if i took off the neck but don't really want to do that. Fortunately, the action is fine at the moment so there's no rush!
3. I just picked up a rather splendid if battle scarred Yamaha RBX 800 from Cash Converters. It didn't come with the truss rod tool. Anyone know what size it is and where I can get one? The end of the truss rod isn't and Allen key jobby a la fender - more of a hex nut. Cheers!
4. Thnk about what's best for the music - the best bass players are the ones you don't notice. Subtlety is king - remember - playing bass is usually a supporting role! Welcome to our world - de dum de doo doo dum!
5. Hi. You can use either a speakon or a normal jack cable with these - it's a clever 'dual' type of socket. My SA450 came with rack ears included - although I'm not sure if it was supposed to. I keep mine in a maplins type aluminium box. Fits very snug!
6. Despite an extremely risky weekend, I'm currently meteor free, and not going out until at least midday on sunday so tough luck!! Col
7. Do you have any compression going on via the amp or your pedals (if any?)?
8.
Just as a note - its a BB614 not 416 .
Thanks 'Machines'! Blooming silly way of numbering basses if you ask me. Thanks also Stingrayfan and Greene King! She's a lovely bass but I suffer from depression occasionally and cheer myself up by buying basses I like but really don't need! So someone'll get a bargain with this! Col
9. In very good condition. I'm selling for £150. Collect from Milton Keynes or can meet at London Euston. A couple of tiny marks on the headstock (pictured) and a tiny glimpse of screw holes peeping out from under the machineheads where I'd previously fitted schaller machines but found the originals better. Lovely fast slim neck and powerful 3 band eq. Pics: May consider trades but not other basses.
10. These are on offer at the mo from The Bass Merchant. Has anyone tried one? Any good? I'm very tempted!!
11. And neither will I lose sleep - just thought it would be nice! Maybe it's not a big deal, but i'm entitled so say my piece. And I think an introduction would be nice. And It'd also be nice if hermon told us how much he wanted for that cab that I'm lusting after and where he (or she) is based, cos I'm buggered if I'm gonna buy it from someone with no history unless i can pick it up with my own mitts!!
12. Hi - nice to meet you all on this community - and this is what I'm about....... Any chance of an introduction mate??!!
13. How else could it be diagnosed competently other than by going to your doctor? If you don't trust your own GP, you may need to splash out and seek someone privately. I think that placing your health in the hands of an internet forum, however well meaning we all are, would be a bad move. Get specialist help mate - if only to put your mind at rest.
14. Corvettes have deep necks but still slim - ie jazz width, If you like a traditional P neck (wide and shallow) you won't like a corvette (imho)!
15. Recently bought some strings from Alan - quickly delivered and well packaged - nice one!
16. Received a bridge and knobs from Steve today. Fast delivery - well packaged thanks.
17. It's a pretty loud 200 watts though - even into an 8 ohm cab!
18. I'm glad you've taken that Harry Potter - it's saved me much soul searching. These are fab basses!
19. I don't think you'll have to worry about overloading the 2 x 10. With the amount of volume you'll have available with that rig - you'd have to be pretty extreme to drive it into clipping. Go for it mate!
20. OK - here's the pics..... The switch is three position and give single coil/humbucking series/humbucking parrallel Col
21.
Argh, 2 great offers. The bass ive always wanted (SBV) and the bass that would suit me to the ground (Buckered up P-bass) Would love to see some pics Col
Ok matey - I'll get some up over the next coupla days - whereabouts in Bedfordshire are you? Col
22. Hi Matty, I have a mex Fender precision, with a Kent Armstrong MM humbucker retro fitted in the bridge position. It's tidy but not immaculate, and is a stunning playing / sounding bass. Interested in a straight trade? - I live not far from beds so could prob meet up - can get pics sorted over the next couple of days if you're interested. Col
