1.
Well thanks for all the comments, both for and against, but I bought a cheap Hagstrom HB 4, and lightened it. I routed under the strachplate and drilled holes in the body and headstock. It's definately lighter, and to me still sounds the same. I also changed the bridge to get the string spacing closer. Was 60 mm, now 54 mm. Still got to finish the holes, by painting. Using it a a festival today.
Looks awesome man.
 2.
Has anyone been tempted to use all their heads and cabs to create some mammoth wall of sound, and try it at home?
I could technically have a 12 X 10" and a 1 X 15" powered by the same head.
 3. I do have another 2 cabs I could hook up to it, that would be fun.
 4. Our very own Chris (Basska) from The Hostiles will be playing with them in Glasgow.
 5.
Yeah Random Hand are opening for them, be nice to see those guys again, good lads.
I was going to see them at the Underworld on Wednesday but had to work late, Robin is a top lad.
 6. I have heard this argued a lot on here but I play all the time in my bass room no worries with one 4 X 10 I plugged in another this afternoon, keep the setting the same and my neighbour came round saying, and I quote 'sh*t is falling off of my shelves." Just saying.
 7.
Nice story.
Indeed, my worry was the bass player decided to get all ego mad and sign it without permission, nice story though.
 8. Worse thing I do is look in the FS forum get GAS for something then realise I already have one.
 9.
Good evening, all... Just for the anecdote... Back in 2006, Macao Parker was billed at our festival in France (3 elephants...); in the afternoon came a message that a 5-string active bass was looked for. The bassist (Rodney "Skeet" Curtis...) had a problem with the electronics of his Lakland, could we find an equivalent..? No, we don't have top-level instruments spare in this corner of France; my son had recently got a bottom-line, run of the mill Cort active fiver, by coincidence with the same pup configuation (although Cort quality, not Lakland...). We offered it for inspection, he changed the strings and action and did a fine set, solos included, with the Cort, which cost just over 200€ new. No-one in the public was disappointed. He signed the back of the bass before leaving (it's worn off since...). Charming bloke, red-hot player. I can confirm that a good bassist can get hot funk from an entry-level instrument (the Ampeg stack helped somewhat...). Just saying...
Can I just ask if your son wanted it signed?
 10.
Do you really consider that to be a 'shame'? Seems like he was lucky to get such a bass for the gig, it could have been infinitely worse! I'd love it if Victor had something of a revelation, and switched over to Fenders
I was thinking that, I know I'd rather a MM to a Fodera. I think he should just be grateful someone lent him a bass.
 11.
Surely she realises that 3 down to 1 is good!? Si
Indeed, I did this with my missus sold a Squier Affinity a Stagg MM copy and an Encore to buy a EBMM Sterling, she was very happy
 12. I use a 200W 8OHM cab with a head that is about 350W @ 4OHMs and 1450W @ 2OHMS I have no problems at all in fact I have the same cab as you.
 13.
Yes, I looked into it for one of my Ampegs, and was gonna cost something like £80 inc materials & labour.
Shame because matching cabs would be awesome, I guess just find someone in the same position and do a swap is the best way forward.
 14. I have a silver grilled Ampeg 4 X 10 and I have just bought a black clothed version, is there a way of getting the front grilles/cloths anywhere?
 15.
Dinky Doom.
I recognise that cab.
 16.
Thanks! I don't really understand the reason these amps are not more appreciated, they are amazing amps as you've said. Any takers?
I love mine, I sometimes try to sell it but never do it, it's too awesome.
 17. This is as pointy as it gets for me
 18.
Got a pointy headstock end ?
About as pointy as a Fender.
 19. I'm going out on a limb and I'm gonna say T-birds aren't pointy they are curvy at the ends.
 20. I wouldn't spend £2K on any bass, £1K is my limit.
