2.
You know, I don't think for a second that Sheldon was inferring that.
I doubt it too but that's how it read to me.
 3.
when you say wasn't cheap what kind of ballpark you in?
£35
 4. A big valve amp and a pretty bass inspires me.
 5.
To answer the question of why haven't mainstream manufacturers adopted the fanned-frets? Look at the majority of these posts. Any mainstream marketer would look at the tone of these posts and "set their phasers on relic" . We're small enough that we can ignore the mainstream and focus on performance minded players.
Sorry Sheldon I must ask for clarification on this point, I'm reading it as people who don't use fanned frets are not performance players.
 6. Looks less tacky that a standard Ritter.
 7. I can can see Sheldon typing away too.

 9. In my opinion it's the cure to a problem no one cares about.
 10.
And Im not too keen on all the annoying kids at the cinema on a sunday
The only evenings you can go to the cinema are Sunday, Monday and Thursday, othewise they are packed.
 11.
What grade paper do use on the necks Wayne and whats the procedure? A very light sanding and then t cut/polish? Just interested as I think my G&L would benefit from this treatment.
I just rub the back of the neck down with 1500grit just to smooth it down a bit.
 12.
so..blew out the golf then ???
Going out in a minute, just had a run, going out to play golf, get home for eggs and bacon an hour on the basses then going to do a double feature at the cinema, I love Sundays.
 13. Had all the basses out this morning, gave them all a clean up, lem oiled the rosewood necks, sanded the back of the necks that need doing, sorted out any intonation problems and boiled the string (except the 70's Jazz that's suppose to sound dull). 2 hours of work now all my basses are tip-top, I'd recommend it to anyone.
 14. Keeps your fingers cool when you're playing.
 15. Nice one, Nic. Reminds me of an Aerodyne, I have to get over yours at some point I look forward to seeing this when I do.
 16.
Hey guys, I have a bit of work to do on a couple of my basses over the next month or so. My main axe needs the electrics looked at and possibly rewired, as well as a full set up and possibly a new nut and tuners installed. I also want a Jazz pickup installed in the bridge position of my fretless Precision bass as well as a full setup and perhaps get the board lacquered. Who can do this? Money is no object as long as they treat my babies well and don't mind courier-ing basses to Northern Ireland! Thanks in advance, Danny
Personally I'd use DW Guitars but a lot of people will say Bernie Goodfellow.
 17.
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BENDER-COLLISION-BAS...=item2c5b5fb467 Wonder what it sounds like?
I love these they look like a Dingwall without the pretentious crap.
 18. I'm lensing my SX to Mythste as he is bassless ATM, his band isn't cool enough to rock the checkered look so I've retortified it. I know some of you weirdos like the tort look so I took a pic. When it comes back the checkered will return and I'm going to re-fin it in surf green
 19. If everyone is posting, I'm in.
 20.
No, is tasty Quorn based snack.
Oxymoron.
 21.
Thats one of the reasons I love Ashdown they really look after people and being in Essex provide great service, try getting your Ampeg etc sorted in that amount of time!
To be fair Panic Music who deal with the Ampeg stuff in the UK are great, they send you a purpose built box get it picked up and sent back plus when they do a repair they run the amp on full load for a while to make sure it's fixed.
 22. I had a J-Retro in my HW1 Jazz for a bit but it's only lately I have been getting into active stuff, I may buy one for my Fender Jazz.
 23. This thread re-enforces my belief that when I have kids I must put a lock on the bass room door.
