2.
So the courier who's supposed to be collecting my brand spanking new bass to send back to the shop for a ding repair is too busy to come today. Perhaps he's in aberdeen too!
How hard can driving a van and collecting stuff be? I've found out the reason, apparently the lorry left too early before the van came back from collecting.
 3.
I found that OP more horrifying than anything i read on bbc news earlier. I think my ethical priorities might be somewhat skewed
Think that's bad Gareth's living room is upstairs his toilet is upstairs.
 4.
Wish I could man. If I was one of these mad, rich, eccentric types then I'd go for it. Road trip!
5.
<laugh="evil"> Mu-hahahaha! No basses enter or leave Aberdeen without my approval! </laugh> Only kidding.
Don't fancy picking it up and driving it down here do you? I'll give you that P neck for free
 6. TBH it's probably a good thing I sold a million things on eBay and I need to send them off so I should really use tonight to pack them up.
 7.
Interesting.......how does that work then?
Couriers
 8. Apparently it's still in Aberdeen
 9.
Thats not so bad I had visions of you taking the day off and sitting about the house.
If I had been at home I'd have got the neighbours to take it in and I'd have gone and played golf.
 10.
Did you take the day off specifically for it coming??
Nah I'm at work.
 11.
Please be advised i have contacted UK Mail and they have advised that they are not sure why this is delayed so they have messaged the depot to see what the problem is. I will chase this up first thing tomorrow morning and update you if they have not contacted me by 5pm today. Kind regards,
ARGH!!!!!
 12.
Well................................................................................................ ......?????????
Still not here
 13.
I killed four threads last week. Think I'll have a go at this one.
COMBO BREAKER
 14.
Oh for Christ's sake, STOOD UP!
Maybe that works for you but I go for the old lean it against a car method.
 15. Here's my one, I think it's the same.
 16.
Well, my bass was on it's side for all of the seven hour car journey but that didn't seem to help it much. Maybe all basses should be modified to be played on their sides and then we'd avoid these mishaps completely. But then you'd have to call it an On-It's-Side Bass instead of an Upright Bass.....
2 strap pins will sort it out.
 17.
How can you be sure?
I have a feeling.
 18.
I hate you Wayne.
you love me really.
 19.
Same here Wayne. My new (old) Fender US Jazz I bought from Alhbass has just arrived here at work. It's still boxed and bubblewrapped and I am currently staring at it longingly and waiting until I can get home and give it a blast
That's worse, you can see it.
 20.
Okay, ON IT'S SIDE shall be my mantra from now on. Can't believe I am having to have my DB repaired before I even get to play it after buying it! Aaaaagh!!!!! Hopefully the repair bill won't be too expensive. It should be okay as the break is pretty clean On it's side Kevin, on it 's side!!!!
Just lucky you didn't drop it down Gareth's 500 mile long stairs.
 21.
I know that feeling... very exciting... and yes you are a big kid.. i remember waiting for a bass to arrive.. knowing and listening out specifically for a diesel engine and with the loudness of a big van.. my ears were that intune with what was going on outside
I'm quite lucky that I have a 15 foot square window in front of me, doesn't stop me standing up though.
 22.
Hope it's better than my last NBD on Friday. Waited all day at work, the bass was shipped to home address where no-one was home. Had to wait to Saturday!!
I've phoned, it's on route
 23.
You should be fine. My bass slipped off my shoulder once I'd gotten to the top of the stairs into my old apartment. After a seven hour drive I was just too slow to catch it.
I read that as you tried to drive after it down the stairs and I was thinking how big are his stairs, they can accommodate a car and they take 7 hours to drive down. Also I don't know if this has been mentioned but you should always keep a DB on it's side.
