1. You usually have to pay £65 for a happy ending.
 2. That is begging for a re-fin.
 3. FWIW I have a few Jazzes but I always use my MIM standard live.
 4. Jap 75RI I think they are just as good as the US one's cheaper and beautiful.
 5. Weird how this hasn't sold, it's a pretty bass, a little different from the norm with a great manufacturer.
 6.
when i say cheeky, i mean more of an insult lol.
Haha fair dues, got 45 watchers so far so hopefully it'll get what I paid for the SUB.
 7.
I might make a cheeky bid on this myself over the weekend. If nothing else it will help up the price.
Haha you go right ahead Dave, if you win it I'll bring it back to you.
 8. Now on the bay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...T#ht_500wt_1154
 9.
Reckon the fretboard wear won't look so bad when its clean, but you'd need to do something to keep it that way. If the hardware has stuff that won't rub off, try cola, except for the sealed bit of the machine heads, cause they might not like it, take the rest off and do them though.
What would you clean the neck with buddy?
hi dude im doing a westone rebuild too! got myself a thunder II body on ebay. I did most research on www.westone.info yours would the the 83-84 model as the headstock doesnt match the body. That finger board is really worn! from the looks your three options would be to de-fret it, gently and evenly sand the board then re-fret it, replace the fingerboard or replace the neck. Hope im of some help!
That's awesome buddy, cheers. My birth year
Is the actual wood of the fingerboard worn, or just the finish?
Just the lacquer.
i think it'd be worth having a look at that crack, just to be on the safe side...

If you're worried about the headstock crack, wick a little water-thin superglue into it. If the crack really goes anywhere this should get in there and sort it out. A
Will be doing that.
As the fingerboard is white in your design picture, why not spray it white & lacquer it -it's going to look VERY 80s with that paint job so why not go the whole hog? As the bishop said to the actress...............
Now that's an idea...... First coat of primer is on.
 10. So as most of you know I bought a Westone Conchord on Sunday for peanuts. Also Jacklondon wants me to do a re-fin for him so I'm going to try it out on this first. Plans: Take the lacquer off of the neck for a satin finish Paint the the bass and headstock Clean it Problems: Most of the body is covered by a scratchplate but due to the routing being so tidy I'm going to make a perspex plate. The fingerboard is quite worn is there anyway to rectify? There is a small crack on the headstock by the E tuner ( I have tried to picture it) is it worth trying to fix it or just leave it as it looks dirty so I assume it's been there for a while. What should I use to clean up the hardware? And last but not least can anyone give me some history on this bass? Bass Design Crack Fingerboard Striped

 15.
Yup, that was me! I had serious GAS for it and just had to buy it. Great bass for the money and it looks the business. Even the missus was impressed!
Haha and the circle is complete.
 16. Just completed the most protracted deal ever with Mark, I agreed to buy his acoustic a year ago but only got round to picking it up this evening, we sat down and had a good old chat and a little noodle on a few basses, awesome bloke great beard.
 17. This is probably the best cab I've ever used, I should have kept it when I had the chance
 18. I have a feeling it's such a generous offer a lot of people are leaving it for someone who really needs it.
 19.
loved the one we had in - I was stood with WaynePunkDude on the day it came in, and a guy had it the same heartbeat it was put on a stand. Waiting for more to arrive!
He didn't try for long either, it was just gone.
 20.
Seems a bit of a shame IMHO to do a refin. It's a nice looking bass.
Plays pretty nice too, might be worth doing it on a Yamaha I have laying about.
