2. Give this a go Phil, took me ages but I suspect you are better than me.
 3. I'm thinking something like this would be a good start before I invest I can see how I get on. http://www.imaging-resource.com/PRODS/S5100/S51A.HTM What do you think?
 4.
I have often considered getting a 52 P then I remember I dont have 50 grand ...
Try getting a 52 Jazz then we are talking money
 5. I used to have one of these, I miss it a bit, very easy to get usable tones.
 6.
What are you going to go for? The reason I went with the Samsung (which is basically a modified Pentax) was that there are loads of lenses available quite cheap.
I haven't decided yet I'm looking at photography forums and the like, I'd be doing mostly landscape pictures as my job takes me around the country it would be a nice thing to do.
 7.
Hi Wayne Looks good - nice idea. The main thing I find that really improves a pic is the area around the subject. A simple floor is fine but it doesn't help 'pop' the instrument. Think about shadows, depth of field (the distance in focus behind and in front of the subject) and the composition. Also attention to detail (removing random items in the frame, straightening things up) make the pic much neater to look at. Try that pic again from directly above and see if you can clear a bigger space of floor so nothing else is in the frame. A nice wooden floor might look nicer too perhaps. Cheers ped P.s I don't now what I think gives me the right to give advice!
Because you're better at it than me, I'm at the very beginning I'm looking forward to getting a proper camera.
 8. I'm now looking into getting an SLR, until then this is the best I can do.
 9. I'm trying to learn this on 3 instruments, quite a challenge. Seriously great track though, the horns are fabulous.
 10.
good for you
As are my 5 a day.
 11.
It's called 5 years of constant gigging, recording and practice... Not being cased under the bed and played once a fortnight
I think the point is wear and tear from gigging is understandable it's when they are covered in grease with dirty fingerboards and lumps out out them where people don't give a f***.
 12.
Are you there, Nigel? As Jaco used to say: 'It ain't braggin', if you can back your sh*t up.'
He also said "give me some money for booze, here's a bass"
 13.
It would be unforturnate if you were born before 1951 then lolz. Mind you, i doubt there would be much exciting from 1991 though. I might be interested in getting a nice peavey or something from that era maybe?
I have a nice 92 Jazz.
 14. There was a big alldayer in Rainham (Kent) last year and all day we were getting calls from people who were looking for the venue in Essex.
 15. 83 just doesn't seem to be a good year for basses.
 16.
Heh heh! In my case I've got two LESS than when I joined!!
I have 10 more :S
 17.
Ooh!!! Now that's got me tempted (tempted enough to even join Basschat!!) I bought one of lifer's ASS212s from Adam Clayton's rig. Seriously considering the 115 to pair with it (bit overkill for bedroom practice though!) Ben
Use it to gig then. Welcome to BC, you should stick around you will learn loads and end up with lots of basses.
 18.
This is now moving, at last, to a conclusion. Tim is back in London, the Coroner is satisfied that there is nothing further to do, so the funeral can go ahead. Tim will be buried at Ealing Abbey on Friday 12th February, the service starting at 1:00pm. The funeral will be open to the public and is expected to be very crowded. Anyone from Basschat who actually knew Tim is very welcome to attend. I will there with my family of course.
I commend you Jack you have been fantastic through this. My condolences to his family .
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1974-Fender-Precisio...=item230537bdbb
"As i have previously sed," Bad English usually means bad bass. If you had a1974 P-bass would you take the risk of saying you didn't know and get £200 for it or would you get it checked out?
 20. I want to get into this arty photography stuff but I have no idea where I would start equipment wise, any recommendations?
 21.

I've seen these before, Jack, who makes them?
