1. I don't know if this helps http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...1#ht_500wt_1182 Looks like a really nice bass, I may be interested.
 2.
Okay, that's awesome. Thanks! PMing the sellers now.
Good luck buddy, remember where we are when you need help with anything.
 3. I'm trying my best to get this sold to save me from giving into temptation.
 4.
Thanks for that. But compare that to something like this, which is slightly less expensive: http://www.gear4music.com/Guitar-and-Bass/...tallic-Blue/C3Z
The quality of that is far less than the quality of the basses/amp I have linked you to. If you want the cheapest thing you can find then get a pack, the Squier Affinity's aren't bad I used to have one but if you want the best within your budget go for something like I have suggested.
 5.
Was just about to post that one myself... Well worth the Ton...
I was going to buy it myself but I already have a natural Jazz with 84's in.
 6. And if you want a Jazz bass http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=71558
 7. You could do a lot worse than these 2 together. http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=70243 http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=71550
 8.
Okay, I just learned there's such a thing as an Electro Acoustic Bass. What on earth is that and should I be getting an acoustic instead of an electric one?
In short no. In my experience you would be better off with a broom than one of those starter packs on eBay
 9.
Thanks for the answers! I hope you don't mind me asking some follow-up questions. About the 20W amp and the 50W amp, what's the difference in the sound if there is any? In terms of budget let's say the max is 250£ and as for style, more alternative rock. Jazz is not my style. Should I avoid the jazz bass then? Are there any online stores that you recommend?
The power of an amp (the wattage) won't have a bearing on how it sounds the Wattage is generally a rough way of working out how loud it is (not an exact science). The Jazz bass is very versatile, I have a few of them myself and I play in Punk and Ska bands. I would take a loook in the for sale section here you should be able to pick up a nice second hand Squier Jazz and a Peavey amp for that money.
 10.
Hi all, Before I go any further I have to warn you guys that you will be flooded with noobie ignorant questions, so I ask for your patience. I've never held a bass in my life but I'm looking into buying my first one. I went to the nearest mustic store and they told me their Fender bass+amps and other requirements cost 250£. I did a search on Argos and found ones that are slightly less expensive, also by Fender. But I found myself asking a lot of questions like; What is the difference between a jazz bass and a, well, regular bass? What really is the difference between a 20W amp and a 50Watt stage amp, and which one should I go for? What on earth is a "strat" guitar? And wth is a digital guitar tuner? As a beginner, what should I buy? Your answers will be really helpful and much appreciated. Thank you!
*DEEP BREATH* A Jazz is a very versatile type of bass, 2 pick ups, off set body and a slim neck. All basses are different, there is no such thing as a regular bass. The difference between a 20W amp and a 50W amp is about 30W A Strat is shot for Stratocaster which is a 6 string guitar (not a bass) A digital tuner is a small device you plug your bass into and helps you tune. Depends on budget and style of music?

 15. Should have listed it as 'reliced' could have made a mint.
 16.
Cheers for all the advice/opinions. I am now the owner of a Jazz and a very nice piece of kit it is too. I have changed the bridge and the tuners. Next on the list is a set of black knobs and a Fender logo. Jez
What did you get?

 20. Bit of a long shot bit is it 90's short lived American TV show Early Edition.
 21.
'tis not me selling it. I'm just a nosy so-and-so.
They are awful, I tried one in a music shop and I have never seen QC like it, 2 of the neck bolts wern't all the way in and the bridge was at an angle, £99 is a bit optimistic.
 22.
No catch. Wayne got it cheaply, decided it wasn't for him, passed it round (free) to anybody who wanted to try a 5-string Bass, and now he's getting rid of it. (cheap) Just sharing the Basschat love a bit.
Indeed, I even put some money on what I paid for it because I'm capitalist scum This is sold BTW, I'm hoping the buyer received it, better PM him.
