I think the only fake MM I ever saw was the most obvious fake I've ever seen and we got the guy banned IIRC. That one is a thing of beauty.

I did that worked fine then it went off then it was fine again probably just pulled the lead out a little. Overall impression was very good though, I used it directly into the power amp on my Superfly and it pulled off a very very sweet Ska tone, I'm not the smartest when it comes to explaining such things but I'd say there are a lot of tonal variations available on it and it will become a cheap, practical, high quality back up.

What does it mean when the led doesn't come on?

Just got back from the gig tonight. Was a good one played with Kunt and the Gang, Tyrannasourus Alan and 7DC. I have been in Cornwall for the last 2 days so had to take a 10 hour train journey to get there, it was in the upstairs of a pub in Sittingbourne (posh huh?!?!) my amp won't be back till Tuesday so I borrowed my old Ampeg B2R with my Jazz the sound was awesome but bloody loud, we hit 120DBs at one point. The set went really well apart from my straplock giving way half way through a song but I don't think anyone cared, T Alan and Kunt played very different set but both very, very good.
