1.
Rock Bass is Warwick's budget brand, right? Like Squier are to Fender? Thanks, G
I've never tried a Rock Bass (I dislike Warwick but that's just personal preference) but it might be worth looking at Squier they have really gone up in the world.
 2.
It took me ages to work out what you were talking about Wayne. I guess having a filthy mind doesn't help either
That post was rather poor and full of innuendo but now I look back on it, it is very funny.
 3.
I've used them a few times, they're ok, no problems. Some of their product descriptions are a but rum though. I bought an A-frame guitar stand from them and from their description you'd think it was custom built for Lady Diana or something, it was actually just another piece of cheap sh*t.
I bought a couple of those from them took ages to arrive and for me they didn't have enough padding (I put some socks on them ) but they don't open wide enough either.
 4.
Off indulging in my other great passion, snowboarding, for 9 days on Saturday. So will not be checking PMs or FS thread from Friday evening onwards. Anyone interested in this bass, I will get back to them after the Easter bank holiday weekend. Cheers Clarky
Gives me some thinking time, I am split in 2 minds over this. Take care mate and I hope you have a good time.
 5.
deffo a carlsboro stingray. staple of every single practise studio i played in when i was in my teens/twenties !
Cool beans I don't think I've ever used it, I may have got it at a car boot. I'm guessing worth less than nothing but might be a good back up.
 6. I've taken a poor mobile pic of it.
 7.
Has it got Reactor written anywhere on it?
Not that I can see. It does say Carlsbro Power Module on the back.
 8. Hi guys I found an old head of mine in a cupboard when getting ready to move (how awesome ). I don't know the model, it's a Carlsbro and it has Bass written on the front parametric EQ a red 'Deep' switch and 5 band pass filters (WTF?) and a volume. Anyone got a clue without pics? if not I can get some pics up later if needed.
 9.
Ask the SX lovers
Indeed, I use my SX over my Fender in some situations now.
 10.
you will experience some warming against your body from the resulting tube heat being diffused by the rear control plate. In testing, we found this warmth to be not at all unpleasant, and one tester actually used the word "sensual" to describe it.
I'm so stupid
 11.
Thanx Tom for some sanity. Still unsure if it was a good deal or not I tried it again and took the plunge. I'll see how it goes when I get it home. It could be a future bargain on here. The switches make a real differnce to the tone. Can anyone tell me their function? Is it only me then that sees a bass that they've always been interested in at a 'steal' price they can (just) afford and jumps at it needs disregarded? Peter
If they go for £600-£700 I would say it was a bargain and if you don't like you could get your money back quickly enough. I say go for it.
 12. Remember to take spare leads Good luck to you buddy hope all goes well.
 13. I love the Billy Sheehan, even if the man is an ego on legs and the red Jazz is awesome.
 14.
What's an lp?
15. Awesome for once I'm not an idiot.
 16. I have an interested guitarist too, obviously there is a queue ahead of me.
 17.
Indeed they would! Alex
Was that a silly question ? :S
 18. Just out of curiosity wouldn't it be worth looking into what amps the 5/6 stringers use? wouldn't they come up against the same problem?
 19. Gig last night was awesome, played an acoustic Punk set with Alex from Wonk Unit, I didn't know how to play any of the songs until I got there so there was a bit of winging it but for a Monday night there was a big crowd and I really really enjoyed it. Due to his voice we had to tune down to D G C F which was weird for me but was good, I went straight from work so I had no amp so DI'd which sounded pretty good, my missus brought me a change of clothes so at least I didn't have to wear a suit on stage Here's some pics.
 20.
I may start my own forum now,for rare groove funk and jazz bass players,no riff raff or pastiche punk kids who cant really play, haw haw haw haw.....Only joking.
I know where I'm not wanted.
 21. The only problem we have is our guitarist is always turning down gigs and doesn't like us playing without him but we do it anyway.
 22.
Got a great one off ebay ages ago, but can I remember who it was ?
Have you got a Speakon cable of a jack cable? If you need to make a jack cable into a Speakon buy one of these.
 23.
Don't listen to him, he plays a Jazz. Cream on. Nice bass.
I'm playing a Precision tonight with a tort pickguard
