1. Shame this hasn't gone I had the 30 Watt version had an awesome sound to it. If I didn't have my Ashdown Minirig I'd be all over it.
 2.
I also saw the value of those stairs, one bloke, a few months work and the result was excellent.
I thought they looked good until the end when they were painted and covered up, what was the point in that?
 3. "Headstock: Matural w/Die Cast Machine Heads"
 4. I think if you have the bass that sounds and looks the best for then thats all that matters if it costs £100 great if it costs £10,000 then good luck to you if you think it's worth it. I go for the basses that look the best because I'm going to sound sh*t on anything.
 5.
Whats next who has the biggest c**k ?
No contest I win
 6. Cheers guys as I say there is a bit of set up that still needs doing but I'm going to leave that till have the space to do it. Played 'Love Cats' on it and it sounded great.
 7.
If it weren't the fact that his bass collection has expanded recently I reckon a certain Mr Punkdude would be PM'ing you about that bass! PS +1 for keeping it like that - it rocks!
Indeed I would, my next bass will be VERY pricey but it won't be for a while. The BC community 5 string cost me £10.
 8. Pretty much finished, I'm going to leave doing anything else till I move and I have a workshop. (shed)
 9. It's working for me, weird.
 10.
I love tv themes... check out the bassline on duck tales or rescue rangers... oh and tale spin.
Reminded me of one of our first gigs, I warn you this is poor. Now I'm pining for my old P-bass Special I swear if I ever find the guy who stole it.....
 11.
LOL. You and your black scratch plates. I agree though. Black and white look fantastic.
I have a black and white scratchplate
 12.
Just to put all of this to bed I am going to get a squier vintage modified P that second hand will cost me about£150.00 and will change the pickup. If the dep job goes on a little longer and I am into it I will look again at possibly the fender delux or something. Thanks to everyone that chipped in and to the people that started having a go about gear snobbery. As Steve Jones said to Bill Grundy f£$k off you dirty f£$%&rs, you c£$t
Wise move and well said.
 13.
Will the audience care ?.
I think they will know what the bass looks like but I doubt they will care who it was made by.
 14.
Olympic white P's with black scratch plates. Me like. Here are my two US Ps
I love the one on the left and I'm usually all about the maple.
 15.
I'll also go out on a limb and suggest that this thread is starting to take on a whiff of gear snobbery.
+ 1
 16.
http://www.rondomusic.com/product2409.html With shipping works out about £140 and you need to factor in another £20/£30 import tax. P. EDIT: Well SOMEONE had to suggest SX!
SX's are awesome I gig mine over my Fender now.
You had to be there
You say it like it doesn't happen anymore.
 17.
That's not what I thought was meant by 'plastic'. Yes, it's as produced as Dark Side of the Moon. To me 'plastic' means 'imitation'.
I think plastic means all style no substance.
 18.
They were? I thought they invented [the UK version of] it...they certainly didn't dress fashionably at the start, it was the audiences that created the uniform of mohawk and leather. What's plastic about Never Mind the Bollocks? Plastic punks: UK subs, The Clash, Discharge... (runs for cover...)
Most UK bands from the 70's were more about look than substance.
 19.
I dont aspire or ever want to sound like wootten thanks. Having a quality set up means reliability, tone control, and the flexibility to adapt to any venue, Mattlock who insists on using Fender rumble amps or ampeg is still playing for the pistols and he plays fingerstyle. With quality gear you are prepaired for all situations and you can "dirty" your sound as much as you like from that base
No one will care what you have, a Squier will give you the sound and look you want without spending silly money on something you don't like.
 20.
The Pistols were one of the most plastic punk bands of all.
+1 all fashion no passion.
 21. Great to deal with no problems at all.
 22.
I'd Buy a sadowsky pj hybrid It's got a slim jazz style neck and it will have all the sounds you'll ever need
Sadowsky in a Punk band? (I do want one) I would go with a Squire P bass special in white with a black scratchplate. Sounds great, there cheap, look the part and if you ever want to sell it I'll have it
 23. I'm starting to think this bass isn't very good
 24.
Slowly , slowly - quarter turn at a time. Do not be afraid!!
You really are helping me today Dave I'll do it tomorrow night, I don't have the right size allen key here. I would need to tighten it to straighten it right?
