1. I watched a program about how they make cathode ray tubes (I know how sad I am) I was suprised how much work and technical know how goes into making them. Sorry little bit OT.
 2.
And Southampton. And that place near Arsenal - what's it called. Oh yes, Tottenham.
Tottenham? oh home to Harry Redknapp's blue and white army.
 3.
Obvious: Christmas pressie, Mrs punkdude
We can't afford it but that is next years goal.
 4.
I spotted one of these on the wall in the Bass Cellar in London a couple of weeks ago and thought ... Waynepunkdude heaven!
I love yellow I love checks I love the the old school rockabilly look, it's perfect. So who is gonna buy it for me?
 5.
Direct link-tastic: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Dean-Cabbie-Stylist-...emZ230307190058 I am strangely drawn to this, despite finding myself ill-equipped to adequately explain why. Jon.
I want it so bad
 6.
Heh - she can borrow an amp for gigging, that's what every other 15 year old bassist does.
True, I think a multi effects pedal would be fun and maybe even get her more involved
 7.
A multi effects pedal to listen to through some half-decent headphones would be much more fun than a new amp!!
I agree with that, but when she starts gigging prepare for her to want one of these
 8. When it said Lowend and then saw £900 I thought how much would you pay for a high end? Then I realised it was a brand and now feel very stupid.
 9.
There are people out there who document this stuff. The watchword with Fender is 'never say never', but to focus on an example you have given... If a bass has a logo on it which - in popular opinion - didn't come into use for another three years, and you ignore that popular opinion and buy it on the understanding it's genuine... you're foolhardy. IMO.
Agreed when it come to parts being younger that the bass then it's obvious but when it come to combinations neck/body , machine head/bridge of the same era but in a different configuration then I guess it gets skechy.
 10. That was a bloody interesting read, I think your point is correct who knows what happened if Fender ran out of bits.
 11.
8k each.... you'll be very lucky..... no 8k for the gig... Stage it.... make sure they provide FOH, Engineer and possibly backline but that's not always that clever an option....
For 8K I'd build the stage.
 12.
Hey guys, Just got back from tour, and literally at the last show last-night, my trusty Ashdown gave up the ghost. "Woooo typical Ashdown" you may be saying, but this is the first glitch in it's working life for getting on for 5 years, so I'm not angry. Having said that, it has left me in the lurch for my three covers gigs this weekend while it's being fixed! Has anyone got a spare amp head, anything really (size within reason, no massive old school peaveys lol), 300 watts upwards, that they're not using this thursday, friday and saturday???? I'm in High Wycombe South Bucks and the first gig is in Oxford centre tomorrow night (thursday 13th), so getting it from Oxford could be done. I know there's some guys here around my area, so am just crossing my fingers really! Yes I know it's time to get a spare amp , if only funds permitted it lol Thanks guys, much appreciated! Si
If you had put this up earlier I would have posted you a head but I can't go home now and I'm going straight to Portsmouth from work, good luck buddy.
 13.
That's enormous!!!
If I had a pound for everytime I heard that......... I would have £0
 14. http://www.directparceldelivery.com/ cost £6.99 anything up to 30KG
 15. I think Jazz as an art form takes itself WAY too seriously, I'm sure there is a place for that it's just not for me.
 16. I'll let you know when I need laquer buddy.
 17. I've gone with car paint as I did last time but this time I will use acrylic lacquer, I have a power sander this time so no blisters
 18.
couple more confirmed. December 4th - Beacon Court Tavern with VOODOO GLOW SKULLS
We might be on that one Oh and we might be setting up a gig with NOFX, it's still very early but could happen
 19.
Last night's gig was cool. I wasn't playing though, just working! Last night of Queen's Euro tour, i'm not involved with the S. America bit. 35 (ish) shows and not once did I get bored of Bo Rhap! When i get some time I'll put some more pics up on the other thread i did with some shots of early on in the tour. Now i'm back home i'm gonna have a week or two off, not leave the house and finally get around to some serious playing and practicing. Hopefully some of my mates are free so we can get some studio time and have a proper play. I'm looking forward to taking onboard the info and help you guys have given me via a couple of other threads i've put up. Cheers.
Haha not quite the covers gig at the Dog and Duck we are used to on here. Good work my friend
 20. Thats a great price for a gread little combo.
 21. I have given away a few bit and bobs in the recycling section and instead of getting people to pay me for postage I have asked them to make a small contribution (not looking for a pat on the back sometimes I haven't) I know it might not raise loads of cash but it might be an idea .
