1. Agreed surely the onus is on you to address our concerns here as we don't want to go into your shop based on past experience. Of course you don't owe anything to us but the people on this site spend thousands of pounds a year on basses (I myself love a bass you have in your shop but refuse to buy it on past experience) and by not addressing our concerns you are missing out on our business.
2. A mate of mine has the exact same one cost him £65 second hand, the thing wieghs a ton and isn't great sounding but my god £15.
3. I'm going to take this opportunity to talk up Mac's music in Herne Bay. Good old Mac sits in the corner of he store (not near the till ) with his toolbox next to him, bless old Mac he is getting old and can't walk. Kids bring there guitars in and he fixes them FOR FREE knowing that when they buy there next guitar/bass their parents will buy it from there, he says things to people who have never been in the shop like "I just got this in you should try it " customer service defined although he hates my Fender keeps on telling me G & L's are better but it's better to have someone with an opinion than someone who doesn't care. But alas old Mac can't keep going for ever and when he is gone the shop will close or someone will take over who won't give a toss.
4.
If you have to look like you have cash to get any attention, then f***’em, I’ll spend my cash elsewhere. You’re walking into their shop with the potential of being a big spender, whether you look it or they know it or not. You wouldn’t get discriminated against in a car showroom or Dixons under the same principles, so why should you in a music shop? In all honesty, what proper muso isn’t a scruffy cnut anyway?
+1 A mate of worked in a Ford dealership in the 90's, a rasta guy walked in wear overalls no one served him and my mate being the junior was told to 'deal' with him, my mate was honest with him walked over and said " I'm sorry about the slow service but the a**holes over there see your black and dressed a bit shabby so they won't waste there time with you, anyway what can I do for you?" the guy laughed thanked him for his honesty, turns out he was starting a driving school and bought 5 fiestas of the lot there and then and always went back to my mate time after time after.
5.
Spector Q6 Pro.. (2nd from left) Play spot the Basschatter as well .
Worst band ever
6. Get one in This colour In all seriousness if anyone owns this bass let me know I will buy bit or if I don't have the money I will kill or be pimped out for it.
7. Good old Bass Cellar my hatred of them is well documented. Was it the long haired arrogant bloke who sits in there with his girlfriend? All get sold in a month? he has has a '79 P-bass that has been in there for 2 years I love it but I'm not buying from them.
8.
Well if Dood is going to break out the professional looking pics..........
9. I only have 1 pic at the mo but will get more. From this pic can you tell if it's a real Vox. As I say it's a crap pic the guy was watching me, there are loads of wierd basses in there gonna pop back in the week and take some real pics.
10.
Well, mission accomplished for me today. I now have a nice 1972 Gibson Les Paul Bass and was treated very nicely in everywhere. Well, except the Bass Cellar who didnt even speak to me or anything while I was in there browsing, but they didnt treat me in any way to be honest! But hey ho, im happy at the end of the day, got what I wanted in a different shop with a bit of haggling.
Nice one matey. Do you have any pics?
11. May not be the best rig ever but surely a good way to start out. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/TRACE-ELLIOT-1518-50...bayphotohosting
12. I bet you looked at your 'fretting hand' for a bit after though
13.
It's a Fender 'Made in Japan' '62 Reissue, I've had it for around 12 years, fab bass. Glad young garbev's going to make good use of it. Many thanks Gary
Well it looks awesome buddy and if you ever wanna sell it (I doubt you would) let me know.
14. Really nice bass shame it's made the wrong way round.
15.
Green Day's longview, the bloody transitions between riffs (or lack of, more like) always gets me!
Indeed easy in theory but in practice it's a bit of a wolf in sheeps clothing.
16.
When playing live... would you rather stand still and be more accurate (but less interesting to look at from the crowd) or be lively and energetic and a crowdpleaser but in turn sacrifice your accuracy?
I try to be accurate but come the show I'm jumping all over the place and if I'm having a bad night I turn the amp down.
17. Johnny Quest Think We're Sellouts - Less Than Jake. I'm fine with it till the break down then I forget how to play it
18. I always post pics of me at shows so this is a little different.
19. My missus has a name for all my basses they are called 'those bloody expensive things you can't play for s*it' My amp is called Tracy McElliot, guess why.......
20. Nice one might sound right next gig. Cheers
21. Hard to take anything seriously when your front man looks like this.
