I'll be interested to hear how you get on with the Groove Regulator. Is it v1 or v2? I have the GR2 which has a blend control, and I do tend to use it with the blend somewhere around 2 o'clock i.e. more on than off but still not full effect. This is my favourite EF yet, and I've owned original Mutron, HazLabs Mutron, QTron, Meatball, Pigtronix, EBS BassIQ, DOD FX25... Haven't tried the Wonderlove but you're far from the only one to find it hard to dial in, whereas the GR/GR2 are much more user-friendly while still giving a lot of scope for dialling in different sounds. You can get lovely dubby sounds, fat squelch, and quite sharp wah tones if you want.

Sadly I was in and out in a rather expensive half hour. Probably my fault for not reading up enough on what it was going to be like, but I came to check out some basses and what with the racket from the amp stands, it was impossible to get any idea of what they sounded like even through close-back headphones.

Just bought a Ditto looper from Rob. Great communication, very well packed and super quick delivery. What more could you ask for!

Hi - selling my Roadworn Jazz as I need to raise some funds to clear my last few months' GAS induced debts. I won't go into the ins and outs of these basses - there's a Fiesta Red Jazz up at the moment with the blurb, and the spec is the same. Super comfy neck and lovely vintage tone. I bought this in Wunjo's a few months back and it knocked spots off the USA Fenders in stock. It had been owned by a session player, and only played at home by me, so in immaculate (roadworn) condition. I'm going to stay firm on the price (£700) for now as I need the cash and these basses really do justify that price tag, so no offers please, and no trades either. I'm in Central London and will travel a reasonable distance to deliver if required. You're also more than welcome to come and try it out. Thanks for looking, Ed

Thanks for the reply NoirBass, that's very helpful to know. The problem def seems to be the Diago as another cheapy psu that I dug out works fine with no hum, all other variables being the same. So if yours is OK maybe it's a dodgy unit. Will take it back and try another.

Hi there - sorry if this has been covered before, but the Search function doesn't throw up anything useful. I have just bought an Enabler and there is seriously bad hum when I use it with either my Precision or Jazz. I have a Diago Micropower, and am running it through cans. Any thoughts on this? Anyone else have this problem, or any advice on a PSU that works with the Enabler (if that's the issue). I don't really want to shell out £100 on a new PSU as this is the only pedal I need to power. Thanks for your help. Ed

Pete just bought my Yamaha TRB5Pii. Great communication throughout, smooth transaction and a thoroughly nice chap. Many thanks and I hope it serves you well. Ed

Agree with Jus Lukin, I'd get some sort of amp simulation if you're going to solo a P through headphones. I came across exactly the same thing when I took my P to Bassgear to buy a new cab. They had the PJ headphone amp there and it sounded horrible, way too hi-fi to enjoy playing through (although didn't try it with mp3 backing track in). Made me realise how perfect my old Pandora PX4D is - warms up the tone and means I enjoy playing it solo or along to rhythm tracks when I'm practising with cans.

I sold a pedal to Samfordia and it was a super-smooth transaction with good communication throughout. Highly recommended to other BCers.

Precision type bass volume control. Always on full?
edpirie replied to interpol52's topic in General Discussion
Useful for home practice with a TH500 so I don't have to fine tune the amp vol knobs down to their 'only just on' point. Otherwise full. -
+1 for Transcribe if you want to loop and slow down sections for tricky passages. I've just spent a week picking at Kid Charlemagne and boy did I need to slow it down to get some of Chuck Rainey's nuances (still not sure about some bits). Which app do you use for interval and chord training - sounds interesting?

Over 30 years playing I have been through a Wal 4, Yamaha TRB5Pii, Warwick Streamer 5, Sei Jazz 5, Moon Jazz 5, Ken Smith 5. I now find myself with two Fenders: a Roadworn Jazz and an '82 JV Precision, and never happier. That doesn't prove anything, just that two particular Fender basses are what do it for me at this stage of my life.
