At 350 euro I would imagine so. I think if I was wielding the soldering iron I could do it for 1/10th of that...
What is the little speaker cab by the way?
The cab’s a CVA with a B&C coax 8” driver - I think it’s a high-end pro install unit found in clubs and venues. It works beautifully as a full range small bass cab with excellent resolution (a bit like a good studio monitor). I suspect you’re right re the soldering iron - a £50 buffer unit would probably do the job but might not look as pretty. I was alerted to actives/buffers and passive basses by Chris May - I have one of his PJs with an internal Overwater designed East buffer. Beautiful and difficult to return to straight passive after using it. The ASC just appears to give ‘more’ of the character tone of any given passive bass. Not like taking a duvet off the speakers but maybe a chiffon scarf

What's the ASC-20? Can't find any info on it...
Apologies, it’s an Alembic Active Super Cable as seen here:
It works! Though I suspect there’s a cheaper way of achieving similar!

As with all of Martin's work, just beautiful - such an elegant and refined realisation of an updated classic

Absolutely lovely - as an Overwater player, I can strongly recommend. Some very expensive options on this, including the MOP inlay - I had this on an Overwater a few years ago and it was beautifully executed. This looks like an outrageous bargain to me - good luck with the sale!

Don't want your Noble, eh????!
hahaha, not sure I'd go that far, though I doubt there'd be much problem in arranging a sale (they really are as lovely as their reputation and price would suggest, and the form factor is brilliant for both stage and studio)

I actually rather like the cut of this man's jib - takes me back to the '70s - and I haven't seen a Flyte for yonks (wonder how they balance?)
Edit: I've just seen the asking price for these - wow!

I'm not the biggest fan of relic jobs but love the look of this one. Think I'd be saving up for Spitfire plate (I really don't know how the CS can justify the stuff they're currently knocking out - I've had a few and always replace the plates)
-
Hmmm...biggest bargain on BC at present? The seven band graphic on these is really easy to use and they're incredibly punchy and loud - must have for a TE fan with strong arms/back

I lusted after these back in the day and that lust has been re-awoken with these images - beautiful things with a massive reputation and that Koa looks beautiful. Sadly, far too heavy for me too
-
Foam Sleeved 3u rack mount case constructed by Flightcase Warehouse - in good cosmetic and perfect functional condition. The marks in the image are just from a damp cloth as I wiped over the case to remove dust - there are some superficial marks from standard usage.
-
I had the non x 5 string prototype also from PMT in Birmingham - beautiful in every way but too big for me

Not normally my kind of thing but that looks beautifully executed - lovely funky tones too (and the usual excellent playing!)

I’m pretty sure I owned that same PJ at one point!
Black with birds eye maple neck and Sadowsky pre? Gorgeous!

Hi obbm,
thanks very much for this - your evaluation makes complete sense - they are Y-cables, probably made to output the Avalon into a power unit, cheers
-
I had one of Jon's PJs - outrageously good bass - this looks similarly impressive!
-
PMd with response, cheers

Two sets of connector cables - I think that these came with an Avalon U5 that I had some time ago. One is mono jack to twin male xlr and the other is female xlr to twin male xlr - I have to admit that I'm not sure of the wiring configuration but please take a look at the image. I can ship to the UK for £5 including postage
-
A bit of a mystery package - I think that these came with a Stageclix wireless unit bought around 3 years ago on here (it never really worked but this wasn't down to the cables). From memory, these connect the bass to the transmitter. Two different manufacturers but all Neutrik jacks. Please take a look at the image. If these are any use, I can ship to the UK for £5 including postage

A used but very good condition WMS 40 Pro - a great introduction to wireless. I've used this for rehearsals and gigs and it's worked very well. Everything is in the box just as it arrived. There may be a minor mark here or there (I can't see anything other than a very small scuff on the back of the receiver unit - it's tiny) but the unit as a whole is very clean. I'd continue to use it but have just received a Smoothhound as a gift. The cheapest I can see these is £80+ at Gear for Music so I hope this is a bargain. I can ship in the UK for £5

Lovely pre - had one in a Sadowsky NY bass (pj) - to be honest, the pre and the weight were the only things I liked about the bass, but the pre is excellent! Subtle but present and very musical. If I had a passive J, I’d buy this

I'm not sure, and others will know better, but that looks like it could be Morroco red from the International colours series. The date could be about right for the series too. Great price IMO (and I'm a big fan of PJs)

Wow, absolutely lovely with some very high-end appointments... miles away from Walthamstow and a bit heavy for me, otherwise...

Oh no. I have an addiction to the world’s finest non-valve pres. And this is certainly one of the world’s finest. Infinite tweaking capability. I could waste hours with this.
SOLD Alembic F1-X rack valve preamp with DI and crossover only £350!

Excellent pre, extraordinary bargain (in my opinion, of course)
