now I've calmed down...Binky is very well known to me and a character of the highest integrity. He is also an extraordinary aesthete and talent. I know this bass well and have enjoyed the pleasure of playing it extensively. My erratic, voracious and frequently emotional purchasing behaviour has placed me in a position where - to the detriment of other pursuits and demands - I have enjoyed the privilege of access to an extraordinary feast of the world's most beautiful basses. Vintage Fenders, Wal, Fodera, Celinder, Sei, Alleva Coppolo, Status, Lakland, Pangborn, Shuker, Overwater, Sadowsky, Spector, Fender Masterbuilt and CS, Alembic, Spector...the list of silliness goes on and on. I can, however, claim in all honesty that this Celinder Vintage is among the three most incredible instruments that I have played (in 40 years, and the other two are short-scales) - ergonomics, playability, tone and fit and finish are in a different league. All of my Celinders have been stunning but this stands head and shoulders above each of them. In my opinion, a very special, almost magical bass and the pinnacle of Chrisitian's work

Wonderful clean, authoritative amp - highly versatile and very useful in the studio or on-stage. The pre in these is a thing of great beauty. A quality unit - even the machined aluminium knobs are pure class. A bargain in my view

Amazing amps and fabulous to see one survive in such good condition. These sound brilliant - bright and clean but with a lovely responsive, fat and clear low-end. Great to see something of such vintage

These are lovely - I've had a CAR and sonic blue and both were very impressive instruments

Just two things to say here - first, these basses are absolutely amazing instruments with extraordinary playability (and this is one of the most beautiful examples I've seen), and second, Pestie is without doubt one of BC's finest and most trustworthy sellers. This is a really lovely bass at an astounding price in my opinion. I had a Limelight J and it was sublime (the OW 'reference' heavy relic). The necks are J width nut but slightly (and it really is slight) thicker front to back. They don't feel overly 'substantial' but are solid, slick and comfortable - 'fast' if that actually means anything? Pickups are excellent too and the overall feel and aesthetic is fantastic - very usable basses. This example is an absolute steal (and it's just 20 minutes over the Pennines from me!) Somebody is going to get a bargain.

90s TE gear is dirt cheap now. However, every time I see somebody gigging with one, it sounds absolutely amazing (to my ears, better than pretty much all of the contemporary rigs). I gigged TE for around 10 years - rock solid and compliments at almost every gig. Wish I could carry this

I used to own this - by far the nicest Overwater I've ever seen - it's truly beautiful and plays wonderfully well. It was just a bit too big for me. Fantastic seller too!

What an absolutely beautiful bass - I love the way the different planes are combined into the whole. What a salutary tale too. I suspect that I've been through similar emotions but was never sufficiently courageous or single-minded to knock it on the head.
