2. As in the title, a brand-new set of Status Hot Wire double ball end half wound strings. A six string set in 30 to 130 gauge. I can ship in the UK for £14 inclusive. Current price from Status (shipped) is £29.40
3. A set of Status Hotwire double ball end flat wound strings. Brand new, 40 to 100 gauge. Shipped to UK for £3.
4. A new and unused set of D'Addario XL bass strings - nickel wound XL155 (6 string). These are suitable for use with Jerry Jones and some other bass 6 instruments - please check your own bass prior to purchase. I've also used them as super lights on a Danelectro Longhorn
5. Epic Chord speakon to speakon speaker cable (1m) - extremely durable and high quality - retails at £100 with twin speakons (please see below). Excellent condition and hardly used. Probably the last speaker cable you'll need. £32.50 including shipping in the UK http://www.thedenkei.../headtocab.html
6. Very difficult market I suspect - not too long ago, this might have flown out - maybe the mods are a factor? Still, a very desirable bass (to me at least)
7. How lovely - pity it's a 5 - great price IMO
8. Possibly Shuker - lots of options and clever construction features (e.g., J J Burnel)? I'm using one currently - a custom order (not mine) with a Sadowsky style (perfectly modelled) 1.45" nut J neck and JJB body recipe. Build quality is superb. It's active too (so many options with Shuker!) - great for me as I'm a massive fan of the P body shape but not the stock P tone, though I realise that this isn't a popular position! In defence, I do actually like the tone of some mid to late '70s Fender Ps (more aggression, growl and focus to my ears). Possibly slid off-topic a bit here but Shuker may be worth consideration (and sometimes they can be found at very reasonable prices in the used market).
9. TI324s should be ok - I use them for short scale (well the rounds anyway). A lot depends on the bass - I tend to use short-scales with a separate string anchor and bridge
10. Wow, I can imagine that this sounds breathtaking! Does it have LEDs?
11. I've never been a big fan of the J-retro as a unit (though I admire Jon's work in general). I prefer Sadowsky (available as a pedal too) for a J. I have an Agi OBP3 too - impressive but in a Spector not a Fender type
12. Lovely looking bass - what's the colour (LPB, Sherwood)?
13. I had one of these 'til I realised that I prefer SS pres (a lot of expensive experimentation!) The 680 is staggeringly good if you want a full valve pre. Not easy to find now and this looks to be in excellent condition. I can recommend thoroughly
14. Replacement for Gibson 3-point unit. Mounted but very lightly used and in excellent condition - the chrome is lovely. Multi-adjustable and supplied with mounting bolts. Currently selling at Bass Direct for £79 plus £4 shipping. I can supply images by email - any questions, please just . Payment by bank transfer or Paypal Gift. Shipping to UK at £4. Cheers,
15. Reduced to £37.50 including shipping in the UK. Very high-end cable - if you're looking, I suspect you'll know what this is. In original packaging and unused - I bought a lot if these a few years ago and only some were employed in my rig. 10' St to St connectors. About as good as it gets in terms of quality for a cable - highly durable and robust with audiophile/studio grade signal transmission. Quite a stiff cable as a result of construction and materials. Currently selling at Bass Direct for £79 (so a saving of over £40). Just PM for images or further details. Bank Transfer, cash or Paypal gift. Cheers,
16. Used to to have one of these - superb pro amp with an extremely flexible and responsive front end, and massive clean headroom. Absolute bargain!
17. this may be totally irrelevant, but if anybody wants Conan's original Status (5 Star) flight case, re-foaming costs about £100 - for a good pro job
18. Wow, just '12' older than mine (probably within a couple of months, so I'd say this was Oct/Nov 1986) Some subtle changes from mine in those intervening weeks but still with the extremely desirable script Status plate. Nice to see pics of the case and instructions card if they're still around. Also, any idea of the facing timber - could be Shedua? I don't need another obviously, however, I'd love this. I 'rediscovered' mine in the past few weeks - extraordinary instruments - the punch, clarity and playability. 'Know what you mean by 'almost too fast'. Incidentally, I was offered a great deal of money for mine by a very reputable bass shop in London. So pleased now that I didn't sell it.
19. Heavy but brilliant - I've been looking for one of these but I'm 350 miles away. Great price IMO - good luck. All any gigging bassist really needs - you'll get heard pretty much anywhere
20. I've seen this bass in many images over time and have been struck by the enormous beauty of every aspect (and the instrument in its entirety). Martin is a genius and my favourite UK luthier by some distance. I too cannot handle 35" scale and thus empathise - this must be a serious wrench. Very good luck with the sale - an unusual spec but a staggering piece of work
21. I have a frozen shoulder and can't play, otherwise, I'd be over to get this. Brilliant price
22. These are fantastic instruments - my personal preference is the 32" scale and narrow spacing, however, Streamlines are incedibly playable with amazing tone
23. Had a 2025 (non X) in 3TS and sold it on here a few months ago. Outstanding instruments in every way - build quality is superb
24. Ooh, used to have one - beautiful. One of my favourite bass shapes ever. A pop star's bass
