  1. I had this 4 String version with a Kahler Tremolo.
  2. Thanks. Leonard started the shop and I know he was still there in 2020. I was often in shop from when it opened in 2001 to when I moved away in 2014. He was a really nice bloke and set up a few basses for me including building me a Tele bodied Bass VI which was a really nice instrument.
  3. Oh right, I thought you might have known the bloke who established and owned your mates shop and ran it and the studio for years.
  4. Is Leonard still at Hillsound?
  5. I have this Boomslang Liberator Nano which is Piccolo tuned EADG, has a 22.5" scale with 75, 55, 35, 25 gauge Rotosound strings
  6. That looks great. If I didn't already have a Fender Rascal I'd definitely buy one.
  7. I have a Fender Rascal and it feels more like you're playing a 34" scale bass than something like a Fender Mustang.

  9. They do indeed. Here's my Fender Rascal and Fender Pawn Shop Bass VI
  10. Yes Esther Phillips nails it and has been one of my favourite GSH covers since iheardit on it's release.. I first heard GSH in 1972 and bought every album from then on on it's release and although many artists have recorded his songs few are really successful due I think to the often simplicity of his originals. I can't say I'm a fan of the Billy Valentine cover.
  11. I just had to play the GSH original after that.
  12. Yes they are amazing value for the money and can still be found for little money.
  13. Yes I love the Affirma and I'm looking out for a fretted re-issue.
  14. Thanks that's really useful info.
  15. Have been looking for one of these for a while and picked up this Navy Metallic Sunburst one in mint condition with the protective plastic still on the truss rod and cavity covers. Really pleased to find one in this condition.
  16. That model was my first bass bought new from Project Music in Hounslow 1992. Great basses and worth every penny. GLWTS
  17. I had one of those some years and the seller is right about it needing a polish but however much you polish it it still needs another polish.
  18. It's part of Fender's Squier Paranormal Series which according to Fender brings several forgotten gems from the Fender archive back to life although the Squier Rascal is a quite a bit different to the Fender Rascal.
  19. I have to remind myself at times that my Fender Rascal really is short scale.
  20. Thanks i'll check them out.
  21. Can anyone recommend a gig bag for a Fender Coronado II Bass reissue or a similar Semi-Acoustic Bass?
  22. I think that Fairytale were the house brand of Musikhaus Kuhn in Zurich in the 70s. There was a Fairytale ES-345 copy on Reverb a few years ago for over £1,000
  23. Is this pickup only or would you send it to a UK address?
  24. Yes I understand. I was older and had more money but they were always out of my price range too! I think at the time one of their main selling points was that you were buying an American built custom bass or guitar built to your spec.
  25. Well it was around the time of those Carvins you saw in Bass Player magazine in the 90s
