1. The Baroque quartet that practise down my local village hall got the right hump when i turned up with my Precision last week so again it's got to be a no.
 2.
Wrong , my friend . If you listen closwely to the lyrics you will hear that the whole song is actually a lament about saving up through the long cold winter to buy some Thomastic flatwounds to put on his Morin Khuur ( that's what they call that thing like a cello he's playing ) so he can sound more like James Jamerson . Just another Mongolian P Bass wanabee , I'm afraid .
I stand corrected Sir! I should have listened to the lyrics more carefully before posting.
 3.
yep, he's playing a 1984 with emgs and optional available kahler bass trem. guild dropped the pickuguards one year later. I had one of these early maple neck pilots in red and it was great. sold it to finance my sei jazz 5 though.
I have a yellow one with Kahler bass Trem and oh what fun it is! It really is 1980s excess.
 4. Unless that's a Fender Precision he's playing then it's a no. http://youtu.be/0M3YFK3sJ54
 5.
While I'm here, what do people think about 5 and 6 string basses
They have 1 or 2 strings more than a 4 string.
 6.
I've never own or buy a signature bass. I buy and play what I like lol.
So if you see one you like, you might buy one. lol.
 7. I'm sure it can but the results rest on whether you use an American, Japanese or Mexican egg.
 8. The only signature bass i have is an Ibanez VWB1. I think it holds it own as a decent bass at a reasonable price whether Verdine White has his signature on the headstock or not.
 9. I can't wait to see some of the replies to this thread.
 10.
I had one, sold it on here a couple of years ago, ultra light, and very narrow EB type neck. Not exactly a 4005 in my experience though...far from it in fact. Mine was a Rose Morris import, from Italy, still had the stickers on the back of the headstock.
Agree with all the above Rick. It didn't expect a lot for what i payed for it (under £200) but it was a gem at the price.
 11.
Not me, although I've always fancied one. Unfortunately they're victims of Jon Hall's policy of hounding off Ebay anything that looks vaguely like a Rickenbacker, despite the fact that they never made a bass that looks like that.
You're right. I saw one of these pulled from ebay and thought at the time it was odd as Rickenbacker didn't ever make a bass that shape! I really like mine and i understand that they were made in Italy. P.S. Here's Bill Wyman playing one. http://shaftesburyguitars.files.wordpress.com/2012/04/shaftesbury-bill-wyman-bass.jpeg
 12. Anyone else got one of these? http://shaftesburygu...aftesbury-3263/ http://shaftesburyguitars.files.wordpress.com/2012/06/shaftesbury-p-4-1970-32613262-and-3263.jpeg
 13.
The ad seems to make him very knowledgeable about these basses. So why, if it`s genuine, isn`t he adding a 1 at the start of the price?
In the description it says that the more detailed description (in purple) is taken from the original advert when he bought the bass on ebay in 2008.

 16. Or this...... http://www.ebay.com/itm/Teisco-Del-Rey-1437-Two-Jack-output-Guitar-1965-model-one-of-a-kind-/321113749167?pt=Guitar&hash=item4ac3def6af
 17. I have no complaints with the quality of the Mexican made Fenders. That's why i really couldn't be bothered to reply to the previous post re Mexican Fender quality. Also the MIM Pawn Shop Bass VI is £600 and the MIJ Bass VI is approximately £1350. They are not the same guitar and not meant to be so to compare them seems pointless. There also seems to be as much criticism on forums of the MIJ Bass VI v The original U.S. Bass Vi as there is between the Pawn Shop MIM v the MIJ Bass VI.

 19.
Not wishing to hijack a thread, but I have a Custom Shop Bass VI, which I will be selling shortly if anyone is interested? PM me. I will be advertising it on here properly in due course, but saw this thread, and thought someone may fancy it. Rick.
More info please Rick!!!
 20.
The lengths Fender will go to to get sales never fails to amaze. If you want a decent 6 get a Japanese one. Forget all about Mexico the quality can't compete.
Thank you for those words of wisdom.
 21.
Sorry, missed that first time reading!
No worries but i read that description really carefully after seeing that sunburst finish. It's more sunrise than sunburst!!! That is some refin.
 22.
If this finish is genuine, it says it all about 70's Fenders, strings and bridge not aligned on neck, probably the worst 3 tsb ever seen, and some very fake wear!
The description says...... And somewhere along the line it’s had a terrible sunburst refinish

 24. Wow! That is some sunburst.
 25.
Very pretty but an awful lot of beer tokens for a one truck pony.
Looks like someone's not going to be drinking for a while then. It's sold.
