1. Roight, you wonderful Yorkies - whos up for the MOR music guitar fest this weekend? http://fibbers.co.uk/bands/514/ - Im definately catching Mantra, love that band http://fibbers.co.uk/bands/521/ A little dissapointingly, there isnt a programme on the MOR website, but there are flyers around town.
2.
You might be surprised, I got caught in the past on insurance. For example, bass I recently bought from within the UK and arranged the courier myself through Interparcel - bass value ~£400, shipping cost £11, insurance £10 - total with VAT £25. You can check if you have the address, just cancel out before the credit card details.
Cheers, youre right, insurance will be £10 + vat in the UK. So for the UK shipping will be £6.99 + vat + £10 insurance + vat, which comes out at around £20.40, which is still cheaper than the quote I got from Parcel Force. Anyone interested, if youre in North Yorkshire, you could collect, or if youre in West Yorkshire I pass through Leeds every day so could meet at Leeds station.
3. Indeed I would - Interparcel from UK to France quotes £18 + vat + insurance. Unfortunately it wont tell me what the insurance would be untill I finish the transaction, but it shouldnt be much.
4. Wow, just checked Interparcels website, shipping will be way less than this! For the UK, we're probably talking around £6.99 + vat + insurance. For France, it'll be around £18.00 + vat + insurance.
5. Cheers everyone for putting this one together. Top day out.
6. Just a quick shameless plug - Im bringing along my MM SUB in case anyones interested, the For Sale thread is here http://basschat.co.uk/topic/156057-fs-music-man-sub-in-blue Im hoping to get the workshop back up and running so need the funds.
7.
If you'll appreciate a lift from the train station, PM me for my mobile number and I'll come and get you (Addlestone and Chertsey stations are the closest) They're less than 5 mins by car.
Cheers Hamster! But it wont be needed, Merton is picking me up tomorrow night and we'll head over on the morning.
8. So the time has come for me to part with my Music Man SUB, serial number X09797. Im not happy about it, but I never play it and I need to buy some kit for the workshop (shed). The body finish is the same really tough, slightly textured stuff they used on all the SUBs Ive seen. The scratchplate is the diamond tread plate one, this could be swapped out if you wanted - Im sure someone will know which scrathplate you would need. This bass is in good condition, Ive barely taken it out the house since I got it second hand earlier in the year. Its got a little bit of wear on the tip of the headstock, but thats true of most second hand basses. If its really an issue, Ive heard people colour them in with a sharpie, but thats a bit irreversible and I just prefer the lived in look. This is a good quality, nearly-a-ray made in the US. Its a shame they dont make these any more. Im after £400 squids, Levi strap included. Shipping in the UK will be around £21 plus £15 insurance - if theres a cheaper way to ship, let me know, EDIT: Shipping to the UK will be more like £20.40 including insurance. I'll be shipping this out in a battered old hardcase wrapped in cardboard. EDIT: This ones an active 2 band. EDIT: PRICE DROP - £380 including delivery to mainland UK, excl highlands
9. I dont think Ive ever tried a long train journey with three basses and a bag full of kit. Hopefully I'll be travelling alot lighter in the way back
10. Ive just booked me train tickets for next weekend Im planning selling my MM Sub (sniff - but it never gets played). Would I be able to bring this along so that anyone interested could have a play? I seem to remember there being a For Sale type table the other year, are we doing that again this year?

Four hours was not nearly enough time to hang out and talk some bass with you guys.

23. Theyre really not that expensive - http://www.rapidonline.com/Electronic-Comp...ronics/3mm-LEDs http://www.maplin.co.uk/components/optoelectronics Make sure you calculate the correct resistance to limit the current!
24. I skipped a few pages, so I dont know if anyones brought this up. My Bass Collection is a keeper, only because it wouldnt fetch much second hand. Its a great lightweight bass, but since its probably worth just a little more than a burger from a van, I would have to be very down on my luck before I sold it.
