Yeah I loved it. A little overkill for home use, but some EQ and Vol control made it very nice. More than ample at practices with a very loud drummer and two loud guitars. Gigged it and it stood up really well, FOH liked the DI out too! The kickback angle made it clearly heard on stage. Only passed it on as there was a local second hand Barefaced and I wanted to move to 2 12" cabs with separate head for more transport and gigging flexibility. I'm sure you'll love it. The suggested EQ settings in the manual make for great starting points, but it is capable of much more. It's a cab with lots of tonal flexibility and power by the shed loads. Getting a foot switch gives you a free overdrive pedal too!
You'll be pleased to hear that any two button latching footswitch with a stereo jack plug on the end will suffice!
+1, i had one recently and went out of my way to source an HFS, only to find any old tom, dick or Harry would've done! Fantastic amp though, great tone options and loads of power for the money!

Warwick streamer vs Corvette . . . Ergonomics
Musashimonkey replied to King Tut's topic in Bass Guitars
They're not actually issues though are they? Warwick's are just different...
Yep, you're quite right, we're lucky to have so many different 'flavours', something for everyone out there for sure! -
Warwick streamer vs Corvette . . . Ergonomics
Musashimonkey replied to King Tut's topic in Bass Guitars
I've only got experience of the Rockbass version of the Corvette, I hated it. Probably the most uncomfortable bass I've ever played. Perhaps the genuine article is different, but the way it hung on the strap, the first fret felt miles away.
+1, also had the same issues on a full Warwick Corvette - so not just a Rockbass issue. -

Yep, solid craftsmanship. Much higher quality than the price point would suggest, a true master luthier.

Very nice. I love my Tom Clement bass, superb build quality.

Your Practice Amp - How Much Power?
Musashimonkey replied to spongebob's topic in General Discussion
Phil Jones Bass Double Four user here. 70w but has plenty of low end at low volumes, & it's got enough oomph if I want to play louder. Great sounding amp, and is very compact to boot.
+1 also has a headphone out too, battery powered compatible so super portable, good for campfires and small quieter gigs too. -

What are the downsides of zero frets?
Musashimonkey replied to Jean-Luc Pickguard's topic in Bass Guitars
I'm happy with zero frets, and I agree, the Warwick adjustable nut is great, it means you can really tweak the full set up and go back on any adjustments you make - a little difficult to do if you've filed the nut down too much on a standard one! -
Great piece from a great bassist. I know what you mean about the lyrics, but when they're that funky and sung with feel, man that irons everything out for me!

I've only experienced one, it's in the classifieds, but it is very nice. Good quality build and finish, with great tone. It's surprising he doesn't market himself more. I've only found a Facebook page, no website, and no real detail on the variety of basses he builds. Boutique basses at a reasonable price. He's got an eye for detail and goes to the effort of visiting other luthiers, like The Fodera guys and is clearly inspired by them.

Any tips or tricks to harden up my fingers quickly?
Musashimonkey replied to Naetharu's topic in General Discussion
Sergical Spirit has always worked well for hardening my skin. It will happen eventually anyway, patience is a virtue! -
A beautiful handmade RMI (Ramsay Musical Instruments) 6 string single cut bass with thru neck. RRP £2979. I recently won this bass on eBay, have played it for a few glorious total hours, so as NEW! I need to reconvert into cash unfortuantely due to unforseen circumstances - very very very dissapointed to be forced into letting this go so soon, it's a great bass with loads of versatility. Asking for price I paid, so someone's in for a bargain, this is silly cheap! Pick up in Kent, or happy to post at buyers expense and fully insured - just ask for a quote. "Brand new, not ex. demo or refurbished. RMI basses are individually factory built - not cloned or mass produced. To date, all RMI basses have been unique in some way, but this specific example of Aurora is radical to say the least. This model is lighter with a thinner neck - reinforced with 7-piece multi-laminate maple/ash with an optimal tone wood package. The bass features best-of-breed hand crafted Nordstrand pickups (found on the world's most expensive boutique basses, top of the range Delano preamp/pots, ETS bridge and Gotoh toggle switches. Equipped with the ultimate professional features, it is not inconceivable to find instruments of this spec, tone and playability for more than three times the price."
