Just reading this and quirtly laughing to my self, back in the day, long before the serious tech we have today i used to use something called a watkins copycat. It was basically a echo effect , a small box with two reel spools and a tape loop... You coukd record and loop but where it got creative was when you used the extremes or accidentally put a loop tape on backwards or cut and spilced them..... Haha fetch me a lava lamp and half a pound of the stinky stuff Would love a go of one now for old times sake ! http://youtu.be/mT97T3Ks0Rg

Hahhaha that explains it Buy some heat shrink sheathing whilst your there, solder the joints and sheath the bare wires....should make for a lasting solid repair.

Please refrain from using dramatic face book esque thread titles like "fuming!" With no further explaination Or ill be forced to resond with the stock response girly of " y babe wots up? In box me " Hope you get it sorted pal, get down to maplins for a new bat clip...

Backup Gear - Anyone take a spare cab with them?
Wonky2 replied to Lozz196's topic in General Discussion
Invest in good quality gear, have it serviced regularaly. i used to take a few spare valves i had incase transit upset anything.... New amp is d class slow no need. Spare battery in bass case, spare fuse for amp and kettle lead, di box for just incase, a few tools like allen keys and truss key just incase the climate is extreme, But thats it. Is it dont fit in the case it just dont keave the house My gear is all good, my leads high quality..... The only time ive seen things crap out is when they are pushed too hard, know the limitations if your gear! -
After many many years of chasing basses i come to raaluse two things, they kinda contradict one another but still, its why we do it to ourselves...... 1) "the one" it doesnt exist. Truth is, YOU are the one. 2) you never know it was "the one" untill youve foolishly traded it in on something shiny.

[/quote] Ahhem, and the disabled The underground is bloody hard work i can tell you, and tes, them lifts are hidden ! Nice set up though drax

I use tha magna, was only )15 in costco and folds flat as a pancake. Handle a bit too short though even at full extension, means i have to walk stooped to pull the trolly, nit so good when mobility is an issue.

Realising and admitting you actually have a problem is half the battle, unfortunailty it often takes the wheels falling off for that to happen. Luckily you had good folk around you to pick you up, and now that your on your own two feet, take strength from each day you stand strong. Thoughts are with you for positivity and progress buddy, keep on keepin on. Wonky.

Guys, perhaps a silly question for which the answer may seem logical i guess..... Im after trying some arco playing and in the middle of trying to find a decent yet cheap bow. I have an offer from another member for which i need to quickly deliberate and make decision but i need to ask my silly question first.... My bass is 3/4 size. The bow offered in the deal is 3/4 size. Is that the obvious and right match, or are there some obvious advantages in using a 4/4 size bow such as the longer stroke length. (Focus people, its sunday morning, resist from Any long length stroking jokes)! Any advice is welcomed.

Also....just read your other post ...wanted to add more to the above. Personally, im hit 3 ways. Right hand has had multiple surgeries, bits of bone removed, pinned, and a hinge instead of a knuckle on my pinky. Left arm snapped radius and ulna, both plated and affects rotation which can be problematic when moving up the neck. 3rdly, i am ruined with arthrits, an auto immune disease which floods my body with inflammation causing bone/ joint fusion and mist worse of all chronic fatigue. In short, its not easy. I had a spell away from playing for a while but came back when i felt ready. I certainly cannot rip up and down like i used to or maintain parts that require stamina.... So what did i do ? I slowed down. I lustened to the music more and leaned toward the solid end of the spectrum. I can still groove for sure, but i have no desire to slap like a frantic maniac anymore. I changed the style i play, the music i listen to and the band i play with. Slower, not any the less skilled, but definaitely more sedate. The band plays a sound similar to squeeze i guess so a broad spectrum but i can choose weather i go melodic and walking or just keep things simple with the roots.... Dont give up, try a different style. Ive played many styles over the years and to be fair i dont care what im playing as long as im playing Be positive, dont force it, find something you like which is less demanding to play along to.... Good luck with it buddy.

Sorry to read about your struggles , i have some appreciation here as ive had surgeries and osteotomies on bones in my right hand, leaving me with some noticable degree of weakness and a lack of control at extension. Occupational therapy helped... Hand/ finger putty and also a spring loaded finger exersizer which you can adjust tension.
