It has got to go. Now down to £950 o.no. I am selling my lovely 1998 Modulus VJ 3-Tone Sunburst Jazz Bass. it has passive Bartolini pickups (which I believe were an extra cost option when new). Currently priced at $2949 on the Modulus US website, the 3-Tone Sunburst is a $200 option. I bought the bass from Molan, of this parish, in about May 2008, for a Big Band I had joined. Unfortunately I developed a hand injury and had to leave. My hand has never fully recovered and so the bass has never been used in anger. I will not be playing in a band again and so am selling off my bass gear. The bass is in very good condition and comes complete with case, case candy, Comfort Strapp and strap locks. Sale delayed and updated due to family bereavement. Sold my 1x15 to Dusty at the weekend. Very nice guy, straightforward to deal with, good comms. We met up at Bluewater which kept our wives happy and it was all very painless. Thoroughly recommended. Thanks Dusty, Graham

Hi Gary and welcome. Looks good. I'll try and get down and may even have a go at an 'Open Mic Night'. It's not too far to the West Sussex boarder from Reigate. Graham

Welcome. Like the basses. I just got back from Zurich yesterday. Nipped over to see my daughter (I'm another ancient bass player). My first trip to Switzerland for over 40 years! I should have been before. Lovely people. Thriving jazz scene. I must take in some music next time I'm over. Graham

I had a very similar problem a few years back. It was on my A string. I adjusted what I could but it still kept coming back from time to time, really annoying. I bought new strings and fitted them and still the problem remained. In the end I checked everything I could think of and it still kept buzzing so I swapped the D and A strings to eliminate it being a string problem. The buzz now had moved with the string. Anyone want two sets of Rotosound strings with a buzzing A? I've been told that it was quite common with Rotosounds for the core to separate from the winding! Strange that it was the A string both times. I don't use Rotosound anymore and have never had the problem again! Graham

Bought Joe's Lakland Joe Osborn 5 recently. A very straightforward purchase from a really nice guy. Got to have a pleasant chat and admired his other basses. Joe also threw in a gig bag and some schaller straplocks. Top bloke! Buy with confidence. Graham

I have the 1x12 which is 75W (100W with extn. spkr.). I bought it used about ten years ago. Only ever used it for practice. I had a problem at first with it cutting out but found a dry joint (solder type!) in the power supply components and fixed it very easily. It's been fine ever since. The vol and gain pots can get a bit crackly but some switch cleaner usually sorts it. Good range of tones with a notch filter and compression switch as well as the graphic. Has plenty of sockets on the back including a controlled monitor output and a straight output which could go to a power amp. Also has a jack (unbalanced DI out). Did also find a downloadable handbook online somewhere a couple of years ago. Depending on the price it could be worthwhile for practice/ small gigs with extension/ linked to PA or power amp. Over the years I've seen some on ebay for sensible prices and some way over the top. In my view they are not worth a lot oif money but good nevertheless. Graham

South Coast Folk Rock band Cartouche are in need of a bass player. Unfortunately it is too far for me to travel. They are in the style of Blackmore's Night, Richie Blackmore's band. PM me your details if you're interested and I'll pass them on. Graham
Washburn Bantam AB20 Limited Edition Electro Acoustic Bass Guitar, 1997 made in Korea. This bass is in superb condition and has a glued-in neck and rosewood fingerboard with the headstock carrying the two-a-side tuners. There is mother-of pearl-type in lay on the headstock and matching binding around both the front and back of the beautifully figured, pink-burst body. The AB20 has a piezzo pickup within the bridge actively controlled via a comprehensive panel on the upper edge. There is the usual jack in but also an XLR socket for DI recording or to bypass a DI box. New price was £799. A matching pink-lined hard case included. Bass has never been gigged and very rarely played. Am looking for somewhere in the region of £300. Cheers David
Lovely looking bass, where are you?

Not sure if anyone is still after a Stagg EDB but Zings have two in stock at the moment. I telephoned this afternoon and then emailed them to check their stock room. They have one metallic black and one honey both available to send out tomorrow. Not sure I can manage to get one as I am already over the allowed number of basses. Still selling for £279 I believe.
