    I met Nick a few years ago when he was playing with Ellis, Beggs and Howard, i was part of Security, managed to get a chat with him and his wife he was very friendly and easy going chap, as for his playing i have seen him close up watched him at sound check and the show, i can only say he is an incredible bass player and has a great bass tone !!! nothing to fault as far as i can see.

    I have Foraminal Stenosis at C1/2 and C5/6 with bone spurs , i have the very same problems and again in my left hand, i find it better on some days and other i also happen to be a pipe band snare drummer, i have not been able to commit to any bands the last couple of years as my condition is unreliable, as far as bass goes i am usually ok, just certain times if i sleep the wrong way and the nerves are trapped i cannot move, you really just have to judge the situation day by day, that is all you can do really operation is not possible for me as too dangerous. probably the same for you.

    Kev, I have purchased new Basses that have arrived with dings, and i had one in particular that had a huge ding on the fretboard, that is why i ask now !!! hope that clears up why i ask the question for you.

    I have Just Called Bass Direct to enquire about a bass i may well purchase, i simply asked if the Bass had any marks or Dings etc , as i have found new basses in Guitar Guitar for example Damaged !!! he seemed offended i asked the question and his tone was very brisk and unfriendly, surely it is not such a bad thing to ask if there are any marks on a bass that is hanging up on a shop wall, that i am about to fork out a lot of money for !!! to be honest he put me off buying the bass, he is not doing himself any favours certainly not with me any way, his manner was a bit too head master for me. shame as there are some lovely Basses on the web site.

    I have sold and purchased instruments on Bass Chat , it is fantastic and i have had return customers!!! building up my positive feedback, and i have peace of mind too as a buyer never had a problem on here with a sale or purchase, and the feedback is a fantastic thing to have . most of the guys on here take pride in packing instruments properly and giving a precise description of their gear for sale. I would buy your bass from someone on here, i think facebook would be very dodgy. Just my thoughts.

    I sold Reef a set of Moog Taurus Bass Pedals a few years back and it was funny watching the bass player trying to play them on the TFI friday the following week. he had no clue, he is a big gangly guy and he had no co ordination.

    one of these just sold on ebay for £450 grab a genuine bargain for your studio or band. every pro keyboard player has a Motif in their set up. also 2 power supplies they sell at £85 each on ebay both genuine yamaha power adapters. this unit can be upgraded with Yamaha PLG boards you can add a Dx7 or AN1X to this rack with one of the boards , it accepts 2 boards at the same time. £300 including delivery.

    It was indeed Martin Gordon he is easily contactable on facebook i have chatted with him a few times he had a great Ric tone and he still does his main axe a modern 4003 maple finish.

    It allows you to switch the compressor off or on, the valve sound on/off, pre shape on/off , graphic on/off , loop on /off and mute the amp. it is one solid pedal complete with a very long connecting cable between amp and foot pedal. brand new unused in the box.

    As a Ric owner myself i have a new 2015 4003 Maple Glo and i have 2004 Montezuma Brown, now both are excellent basses and sound fantastic the 2004 MB has the older type pickups while the 2015 has the hotter new adjustable pole piece pickups, the Monty to my ears has a richer or warmer sound to it being 12 years old , and the 2015 model has a brighter more lively sound to it, it may just be the character of each individual Bass, as they different piece's of wood, and the MB has Bubinga on the fret board, and the MG has a caribbean rosewood fret board. if it was a matter of only one bass i would keep the MB as it has that lived in warm/rich sound which sounds like a classic Ric tone, as the MG ages i am sure it will mellow and sound richer with time.
