    I think the mexican marcus sounds awesome as is !!!! the output is awesome from the pickups, tons of tone , everything you would want, i can't think of a better bass you could buy for the money.

    LOL, cheers matt, this is a particularly nice 4003 , one of the lucky ones everything is right about it , most of the new rics i tried were unplayable, this one just had it straight away!!! i had a choice of 3 walnutburst at the time, this baby just blew the others away, it had a real thickness to the sound and a Great E string. now where was i .......... need to save up for a status and a wal !!!! cheers

    well to be honest it's hard to find a good ric and maybe thats what it takes to find a good one. no harm in owning lots of rics is there?? i am heading in a different direction and looking for a new sound , thats the reason i am selling. cheers

    Geddy lee played genuine ric basses he had a white 4001, two jetglo 4001,s and a maple 4000, as well as the custom double neck and a 3001.

    Would not fancy any bass used by lemmy, he hammers his basses to destruction he had both his custom rics built up again as the headstock's were coming apart and the neck from the body!!!!

    just want to add after using the bass tonight i love it, great sound and it feels great, the bass and treble controls are the smoothest i have felt on any bass at any price give them a try and you will see what i mean. the pre amp is just awesome, tons of bass!!!! just try one they are superb!!!!
