  1. My 2023 Autumnglo is all over satin finish including the fretboard, it feels fantastic, one of the slimmest Ric necks I have owned.
  2. I am well aware of all that , I have been playing Rickenbacker for over 40 years and owned over 40 of them, The modern Horseshoe still sounds amazing it hotter has more bark than the high gain on standard 4003's , I personally love the sound, after all I am designing the sound for me not someone else's choices, The Rickenbacker 00031 Toaster sounds fantastic, sounds great on its own , I love the sound the feel and look of my 4003s . I don't need any other pickups. Could not be happier with it.
  3. No, I wanted Rickenbacker pickups, I wanted this bass to sound as original as possible.
  4. Smoother edges, about the same weight, they are also mono output, perfect for the V63 conversion Project. They still have the vintage tone circuit. great basses to play.
  5. No, done the work myself.
  6. Rickenbacker 4003s Fireglo , 2023 upgraded to V63 spec, Horseshoe and Toaster, vintage plate and truss rod cover, single truss rod skunk stripe and new bridge. great bass to play.
  7. My Rickenbacker 4003s Fireglo 2023, upgraded with Horseshoe and Toaster pickups, single truss rod, new bridge and skunk stripe in Fireglo.
  8. My Rickenbacker 4003 special edition with checkered binding, Autumnglo 2023 single truss rod new bridge and skunk stripe, entire bass is satin including fret board. the neck is sublime on this bass, flat D thin back to front.
  9. Hi Clarky, No I did it myself, the toaster was impossible to get hold of in UK, had it sent from New York took 3 weeks to get !! sounds fantastic though.
  10. Autumnglo, Jetglo lol.
  11. My 4003s 2023, V63 spec, love this instrument, neck is really flat D profile so easy to play this one. Sounds fantastic with Toaster and Horseshoe. Has the new single truss rod , new bridge and skunk stripe in Fireglo Finish.
  12. Still available just changed the battery and strings . Thanks
  13. Yes, specific for the player, that is what it is all about , get it right for that player on a particular bass.
  14. Most important thing with these basses is the setup . Get that wrong and you’re wasting your time. Get it right bass bliss.
  15. Rickenbacker 4003s model, Fireglo finish 2023, lovely playing Ric with nice low action set up ready to play, very nice grain on the fret board on this one, new single truss rod system also new tailpiece and bridge which allows any spacing and height of action that you want. Plays superbly, nice even sound from all strings, Rickenbacker have knocked it out the park with these new basses. 4.42kg comes with Rickenbacker case and case candy the pickup cover is off at the moment but will be included. pickup preferred but you are welcome to arrange your own courier. I have the original brown shipping box. my feedback.
  16. I have owned over 40 of these basses 4001, 4001s , 4000, 4004, 4004mkll, 4003, 4003s . The truth is I have had one genuinely bad one, a 2011 4003 the E string was dead no matter what I did , just no acoustic response from it at all . The rest were pretty good basses , with Rickenbacker basses it is all down to set up !!! Get that wrong and it sounds awful, truly awful!!! Get it right you will have a fantastic playing and sounding instrument. There have been QC issues with Rickenbacker over the years on new basses, from flaking paint to dud E strings, in my experience the very current ones are the best ever , I have two 2023 models an Autumnglo special edition 4003 with checkered binding and the new truss rod system and tailpiece and bridge, got to say it the best Ric in every way , the neck profile is almost flat, the action I have set is perfect , the new truss rod works very well and has not needed any further adjustment, sounds wonderful. Also a 4003s in Fireglo again plays and sounds wonderful , the neck not as flat as the special edition 4003 but still excellent. Both had zero issues in any way and People that know me in BC know I am a fussy B. If you have ever wanted to own a Ric but a bit scared of forking out for one as they certainly are not getting any cheaper, this is the time to do it I would say . This is the best they have ever been and it would be difficult to make them any better.
  17. still up for grabs, not just saying it the playability of this bass is unreal. What a neck so slim and solid as a rock, superb workmanship on these instruments.
