3. hi tom , the price is for the bass with original shipping box, the case would be an extra £75 these retail at £150. cheers george
4. yep everything helps, the good thing about 4003,s is that once they are set they tend to stay that way, so initial set up can be a pain , with trial and error but worth the effort.
5. no guys its from a guy in scotland.
6. I have been offered another bass i have been after for a while so this bass has to go to buy the other one , it is as simple as that . I have had 8 rics in total, this one would satisfy anyone after a ric, the other one i am after is a collectors ric and a limited edition, i have been offered a good deal on it , so to achieve that goal i have to part with the lovely fireglo.
7. up for sale a new rickenbacker 4003 fireglo built nov 2011, this was the first bass in the uk with the new caribbean rosewood fretboard. nice low action, i have removed the pick up cover for ease of playing and fitted the treble pick up bezel. nice growling ric tone. 100% mint with rickenbacker case £1400 plus shipping, pick up welcome. i am 30 mins from glasgow. 01294 604281 MY FEEDBACK http://basschat.co.u...62-cij-reissue/ INTERESTED IN TRADES FOR AMERICAN PRECISION DELUXE &CASH MY WAY. ******WITHDRAWN****
8. nice bass , sure is a buyers market, but i am sure it will all turn around shortly for sellers, a lot of supposed buyers are taking advantage of this buyers glut, by offering silly money for quality basses . i have experienced it a few times on here, and at the end of the day they cant even afford the silly price they offer. good luck with the sale mate a cracking bass. cheers
9. just found out from ben hall at rickenbacker i have the fist new caribbean rosewood fret board in the uk, nice to have a first!!!!
10. if it helps it is a good one , when i purchased the bass i tried some of the american basses and this one just had it, the only reason i am selling is i have just purchased a new 4003. i see you are in barrhead you are welcome to come try and see if you like it, i have had really experienced bass players in the house they have all loved it. cheers george
11. it has to be fireglo, i have owned 5 jetglo,s they always damage and chip very easily the fireglo is a more robust finish, and looks great , i have just taken delivery of a new fireglo and it,s stunning.
12. i am just about giving away a jazz bass and it has not sold, probably better to hang on to it until things change, thats what i am doing.
13. hi sam, thats the thing about the new 4003,s they are all individual instruments with different characteristics, i have seen other fireglo 2011 models and they have a very light coloured fret board , the fret board on my bass is very dark, i actually watched some footage on you tube it was a tour of the rickenbacker factory it was made around nov, thats when my bass was produced there was a rck full of 4003 fireglo and they all had light coloured necks, i am happy to have something unusual and it sounds great. geo
14. check that the bridge is fully tightened against the body of the bass even one loose screw will affect the sound of the bass, also check that your strings are seated properly in the machine heads its amazing how such a small thing can make a difference , another thing to check is that the bridge saddles are sitting straight its easy for these to be off slightly, as you know when you take the strings off the saddle housing can rock back and forth. also check the nut is ok no bits of gunk have got between the nut and the strings, another thing you can do is adjust the poles on the pickups for individual height if one string is sounding louder than another you can get a good balance that way too. last thing to do if none of those things worked would be to adjust the truss rods , i have had problems with brand new rics and i have always managed to fix them . geo
15. no chance stevie lol, this one is a keeper its perfection mate, just love this bass it reminds me of my first 4001 so much, the big neck and the tone is just huge from this bass , all i had to do was lower the action slightly and adjust the pickups and i was sorted. the wood on the neck is just supreme quality never seen anything like it, over the moon with it , the distributers are now including a hand made leather strap with the 4003, very nice touch to an already awesome bass. how you getting on with your jg??? cheers george
16. hi sam, thanks mate, did you find the neck a bit chunkier on the new fireglo?? it reminds me of a 76 jg i had, i prefer the beefier neck, also is your fretboard the same as mine with the caribbean rosewood fretboard?? cheers george
17. a few snaps of my new rickenbacker 4003 purchased yesterday, she is flawless and the grain on the fretboard is outstanding!!!!
