1. My Blue Pearl Ray sporting a clear pickguard...
2.
Only one I've played was for sale many moons ago in of the smaller shops in Denmark Street, London. A kind of pink colour. Previous owner was some bloke called Cass Lewis.
I had the blue version of this - made in '87 with side LED's and Status Hyperactive pickups. I still cry today about having sold it. It went to the USA.
3. i know this is an old thread but this is a beautiful, beautiful bass. Couldn't be any more perfect.
4. Ebow always makes me think of Big Country and my first ever live gig.
5. Looks lovely with the tort pickguard.
6. Nice!!
7. I'd just replace all of them with some decent Japanese machines (Gotoh) with the same screw placement. Welcome to the forum by the way
8. +1 on the Sandberg route.
9. The rusty jack socket - not one of Fender's best ideas. Do they include a rusty old knackered Whirlwind cable too with dry joints?
10.
If you had 2 basses, same spec except one with a maple neck and one with rosewood neck and you swapped the necks they would sound different , but if you swapped the bodies there would be no change in sound
I'm sure Tom Baker used this logic to make a robot self-destruct in the 70's.
11. What's the little round fella on the back for? Oh and thanks a bunch for igniting my Dingwall GAS. Just seen this:
12. Stunning!!!
13. That's awesome! Congratualtions
14. Lovely bass! How the frick do they do it for the money and maintain such tight quality control?
15. OK so I checked with MK and he doesn't have his Pangborn anymore. His actual words were 'long gone mate'. I wonder where it is now, assuming it isn't still in the sand?
16. I've been using glow powder in clear casting resin for many years now with great success. I've made garden 'lights' which are still glowing strongly 8 years after they were first made.
17. I bought an MXR Bass Envelope Filter from John which arrived today. Very quick postage and the pedal looks brand new. John is a great guy to deal with and I'm extremely happy.
18. Yeah my Columbus had the fakebuckers too. I was mortified at the time.
19. Glad to help!
20. They look identical to Warwick machineheads to me - £6.25 each from Thomann and they have chrome, gold and black: http://www.thomann.de/gb/warwick_bass_tuner_machine_black_left.htm
21. Nice! My first guitar was a Columbus Les Paul. Happy Birthday for yesterday
22. So are the replacements stamped with the same serial number? Nice to hear that companies care - especially awesome ones
23. This is doing nothing for my Shell Pink GAS! Can't wait to see it finished.
24. I love my BX500 head - actually more than my LM3 which I never thought I would say. Best compression I've ever heard on a bass amp too.
