    I have fitted them the same way I always do, yes there is a kink but I’ve never had this happen in over 40 years? Both times it has happened in the last week it was preceded by a very loud crack

    Checked scale length and it is correct, long scale standard

    E string on a new set unwinding at tuner end , see photos, this has happened with the replacement sent by Dunlop as well, not has a problem with other brands, I also checked for free movement in the nut slot when fitting the replacement, the photos are taken just after the point that their was a cracking sound when tuning up

    Your right, I’ve sold plenty of stuff on eBay and always made a counter offer to people, I should remember that we can’t expect everyone to be as lovely as myself !
