Thanks to the guru @Andyjr1515and also @Reggaebassi did my p bass in about an hour for 10£ or so in tools - eBay link in thread above - these were totally adequate

Yes agree - I have a zoom b2.1 that still seems adequate

I just bought a fret crowning file and a sanding block - total cost around £10 and 90 minutes or so

I quite fancy one to use and as an investment. I’m leaving something of my old life behind; it was traumatic and some money will come of it. Maybe retail therapy will help as I’ll have got something (nice) out of it

I do wonder if keeping a thumb resting on the cover and not moving it might lead to problems longer term compared to keeping your thumb mobile along with all your fingers caveat : I’m not medical but I’ve had a lot of hand problems arise from immobility and lack of use however if the pup cover rest thing works for anyone reading and they have no reason not to use it, go right ahead

I’m sure artec make such a saddle piezo- I connected mine to a probably fake Fishman preamp (bass came with the saddle fitted, I swapped out the existing preamp)
