  1. The dinosaurs are just living in the past .... cue Tull
  2. He’s playing it with no audience, in his 70s. Give the man a break. He sounds way better than McCartney does these days
  3. At about 2:15, then he heads off behind the sofa
  4. Sure but is that country? Or is it western ? We have both kinds ... cf blues brothers in case anyone thinks it sounds familiar or (wrongly) that I’m being either clever or knowledgable 😏

    Fret wire

I wouldn’t go jumbo modern, why not vintage spec ? You don’t say what style of bass it’s going into
  6. Oh so only good for root and fifth in half time...hmmm

    Fret wire

I tried fretting once, long before youtube and I made a pigs ear of it. If I was doing it again I’d get one of those fret presses with cauls to do it evenly. i think the banjo wire comes from lee sklar’s Dingwall, he advocates the lightest touch possible IIRC
  8. My zoom fits easily in the gig bag with two cables and it runs on batteries and it has a built-in tuner ... OR .. you could lug a totally enormous amp and cabs into your car, out of your car, walk around it all night, lug it into your car .... try it my way, no fairies will die, guaranteed
  9. It’s only ever me and my zoom b2.1u into PA. ”that sounded f ucking awesome” said a Very cute redhead girl. Ampeg svt model plus a precision with nice pickups. I wouldn’t do anything else
  10. “Pass the Covid on any non absorbent surface” doesn’t sound quite right though
  11. Were you honestly expect us to jump in and steal your thunder o’ guru ?
  12. I’m not usually subject to sellers remorse, but in the case of my sunburst 62ri (from oldgit on here) I really miss it and regret deciding to sell.
  13. Swap the tone pot for a fender no-load pot, putting it to 10 gives you full bypass. There’s a barely-there click as it passes 9 that job looks fabulous btw. I left my bass in my car over winter which did a fabulous job of checking the paint
  14. Just do it, every single one I’ve had has been fabulous well worth the premium and like @Steve Browning I do not think us is sufficiently better to justify the extra outlay
  15. To be fair I don’t think it’s entirely clear in your text but fair enough
  16. @Baxlin no I’m totally with you on all of that.
  17. They wouldn’t fit on your watch, not even if it was one of those stupidly huge Rolex ones
  18. Ok fair enough. It is woodwork-chat, followed by Paint-chat and second fix-chat ... now time to handover the beans for “Just how pukka is my son/daughter going to sound playing this”-chat we need a big reveal you know. Don’t want something amazing looking that sounds like an asthmatic mouse... or a guitar...😩. and I’m pleased to say that that mini P gets a big thumbs-up from me 👍good work mister

  20. We want to know how authentic he will sound, this isn’t woodwork-chat
  21. In a weird way I kind of like them, although that top horn would make it really tricky to reach upper frets on the fatter strings, which really lets it down on grounds of practicality 😏
  22. Excuse me, I was complimenting her on her bass playing ability, presentational skills and ability to ride a unicycle whilst doing those two things rather than making smutty innuendo like some, thanks @stewblack there
