  1. Simple stuff but having finally got far enough through the DIY that I’m getting some practice time after a mere four years of slog, with the basses living in a cupboard I’m learning bullet the blue sky and in gods country from the Joshua tree album Both have more variation than I had thought
  2. I’m not a coffee table fan but I disagree in the strongest terms. I’d choose acg just for the resin work alone
  3. Hmm … let’s see maple neck, 20 frets with dots body probably alder with some contours at the forearm one pickup, probably a split coil of some kind, silver knobs - like the look of knurled - maybe volume and tone just to be different Maybe painted in sunburst ? :🤔
  4. You’ll fit right in, mister 👍
  5. I think both are amazing value and quality - can’t go wrong
  6. Well done @Chownybass
  7. Easy to fix - however should not be like that when new just jam a matchstick in there and forget the glue
  8. I have a couple of jazz bass ones (red and brown) like the one shown above
  9. What bass is it for ?
  10. But you didn’t ask me to help so that’s quite unlikely 🤔
  11. I always liked the pointy ones
  12. Or a new ba… doh !
  13. Yes it’s intended to be a joke, I apologise if you’re upset i just don’t get the GAS thing
  14. So … you … sold it on, right ? Just a wild stab in the dark 😛
  15. It was whilst flattening the top frets that I realised how uneven they actually were the ends are beautifully done but the heights are very variable I put sharpie on again and used the block flat, got down to 2.25 on E at 12th after restringing and reapplying radius I’ll have another go tomorrow thoughts on this ? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Guitar-Fingerboard-Luthier-Tool-Guitar-Fret-Crowning-File-Fret-Leveling-BeaH5G1-/174616181690?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m2548.l6249&mkrid=710-127635-2958-0
  16. I did, yes, the fret rock on the stingray was very slight and I did doubt myself whilst doing it
  17. So I found a two sided rectangular oilstone - half green and half black IIRC I bought it to sharpen chisels - I put a line of sharpie pen on fret 12 of the stingray I used the thin, long side of the oilstone to flatten fret 12 on the stingray just enough to remove the sharpie ink - the bass plays better in that zone trying Andy’s ski jump removal step on the P bass (using wide side of the oil stone) will have to wait until the weekend
  18. I have a lot of time for mr currie’s bass playing; I think he is very underrated
  19. I’m a genius :😇
  20. Depends on the flower choice why not put it in a 51styje P
  21. You could stick small flowers in the holes and use it to decorate your home?
  22. Or do it yourself ?
  23. Those are defective - they have guitar necks @jacare has the right idea
