Totally agree, suspect the neck plate also . Mine On the jb62 was plain the pick guard shouldn’t have that truss rod cutout, or be black just remembered I had this p bass model exactly too (briefly) - it had a white scratch plate for sure and a plain neck plate.

SSL, certificates, data formatting and data massage; you name it, I’ll work out how to do it, usually for free so no business outlay right now I’m developing a data lake with data from all over the business including mainframe statistics plus business statistics so people can join that all up in funky graphs without having to learn “green screen” mainframe-speak and export it all to spreadsheets.

Just check continuity from various points to the jack socket outer ring. Then use ohms / resistance to check resistance (is it a good contact rather than merely connected) - if almost none from various points to the jack outer then that contact point was earthed well.
