  1. What is the weedy looking one on the right? Short scale bass iv I hope
  2. Yes, they smashed the nut on a prosebass despite it being Bubble wrapped and then enclosed in four inches of solid polystyrene on each side and then boxed. Apparently I “didn’t protect it enough”. Idiot buyer then signed for it. The box had so many holes in it that it looked like it had been machine-gunned
  3. I hope he’d painted it by then
  4. You think he wants it too look like someone came all over it ?
  5. Have you been here long ?
  6. Will it be any good for metal ? I think we should be told ...
  7. I think it looks fabulous - needs tort though
  8. I like playing folsom prison blues and wicked game. In the former, I added a semi slapped fifth every few bars to add a click clack “Railway” sound that I like to think Mr Cash would approve of.
  9. That’s because they are not rational
  10. I don’t doubt the skill in making them compared to the ease of CNC but I do think the differences are minimal at best, a bravewood / limelight replica is probably as good as an old fender

  12. Ok - come around to my house and take a really good look. I strongly suggest you check your pups in the rear pup cavity. I think nitro paint was a mistake, you need something high-build to counteract the grain and it’s thirst, that you can actually sand flat
  13. Oh fcuk. see my “Olympic white” build thread .... imagine putting a litre of spirits in front of Oliver Reed, that’s how it drinks grain filler, sanding sealer, primer, paint ... one thing you must do ASAP is check the back pup routing. Mine had the lug routing locations From the front pickup clicky ...
  14. You hum it, we’ll play(ce) it
  15. That looks awfully like pawlownia.
  16. Were you any good for metal ?
  17. Sitting on the dock of the bay, I played bass and my then-bass teacher played telecaster custom. At the end he said “youre better than you think”. He was wrong, but I appreciated it
  18. Why did you leave the US, shels? “mind your own damn business” is a valid answer btw
  19. Pictures....
  20. Welcome shels, you’re in my age zone and there’s plenty older (and younger).
  21. Susanna Hoffs and Nancy Wilson get my vote
  22. Yes but there is no wind ...,
  23. Rod Stewart, mandolin wind ... so it never changed a thing... firstly mandolins don’t use wind, they’re stringed instruments you faux Scottish muppet, and secondly they don’t cause weather effects and thirdly ... exactly what life-changing effect were you expecting such a weedy instrument to wreak on your otherwise pointless life ?
