My screws are 43mm from end to end gasket is 1.5mm inside the rim 39mm protrudes when gasket used - apols for poor photo, am not blessed with octopus limbs

I’ve just chucked an old kids chemistry set out - everything came in a polystyrene tray that’s where the idea came from - solid to start with but easily carved - but soft for the finish and flat on one side

Roofing vents may work better - we had to put those on our flat roof plus venting on soffits to avoid fire risk buildup of heat
