I don’t have an upright, just a jazz bass and a precision. I’d thought about putting a sponge under the strings near the bridge ? chap I spoke to today plays telecaster and his buddy plays banjo; I’m toying with asking if I can join although I know nothing about bluegrass.

I’d tell them to get stuffed … caveat unless they had that bass to hand and I was playing a bass borrowed from them

Because he’s not actually amazingly talented ? He’s good at creating soundscapes, and has deep musical knowledge, but I don’t think he’s an amazing guitarist which is what the question actually is.

So I looked at ampmaker. Some of these amps are kicking out a colossal 18w. How loud are they in reality? I assume you can’t just plug headphones in to the speakerOut socket further, they call them guitar amps but I assume they can handle bass ?
