    I would not sniff at it a ready made audience that knows the songs and you know are going to be up for it if you do a good job. What’s not to like ? It’s better than starting mustang sally and trusting to luck

    Multimeter between bridge and bell plate set to ohms should tell you that. If 0 ohms or near it then you have connectivity with no resistance

    No, earths though the bell plate and pot bodies. Surprised that’s strings not earthed though i

    But different instruments from the same year of exactly the same model made in the same factory on the same line by the same crew of people under the same environmental conditions sound different anyway. Even these days with CNC you need to try a few to find the best one Does he not have enough to fill his days ?

    I cut the end of the pin off at an angle so the string ball slips down it and neither gets stuck on the pin or pops it out see sketch below

    Cliff plays a lot of thirds to keep the bass relatively interesting

    See I don’t actually mind that because it’s at least in part what bass is about. I enjoy the actual experience of two or more people making music. I find it hypnotic
