  1. Or claim “it’s just jazz/blues/country/a #17th” followed by “don’t you know anything ? {geetard}” ... final insult optional
  2. @julietgreen there’s a good Ed Friedland book called “Bass improvisation” that you might find helpful (but it won’t develop your “ear for chords” that as @lowdown suggests is just experience )
  3. Or wear marigolds ?
  4. Cover them in epoxy resin - worked for jaco...
  5. And the yellow one with the weedy strings.... relegate that to a shed or a fireplace ...
  6. Yep, post pics or it didn’t happen ...

  22. So at least learn standard rhythm notation.... it’s really not that hard
  23. Ooh ... can of worms ... tab is useful for newbies for confidence, you find out “how to play” in terms of getting the right notes but it teaches nothing about rhythm. You can learn notation and so take in more music, not just music voiced for bass guitar. I favour tab + which combines a suggested fingering of the notes with rhythm shown in standard notation. Best of both worlds
  24. Even if mr pfeiffer, who models for the photos, is one scary looking dude
  25. Hopefully he won’t kill you though
