  1. can I use linseed oil as a cover to the grainfiller? apparently you normally put a clearcoat on before colour layer added a link to parts in the top post
  2. I meant "whatever the standard US offering is these days" 'professional' or somesuch ?
  3. I have only seen bodies, but there was a post on here from someone who bought a kit.I did find out from talking to the seller that they don't have earth holes drilled from the bridge. This is not a huge issue for me as I was going to use shielding foil so I will just use it to join the bridge to the pickup shield a la 62 but it might bother some
  4. i saw someone do this as a trans red finish
  5. they did, yes, but I wasnt sure if cellulose was the same as nitro cellulose.
  6. It’s the postage that’s killing I did look at his site - just wondering if I can use car paint though
  7. I'd go for the Sire or a roadworn / classic 50/60s P or J
  8. It took four years of trying on various trips to that london but I finally got to @thebassgallery and the man there was kind enough to stay open a few minutes to let me look around.

    Rumple

Jesus what a total nightmare - never, never again ! Charlatan ... hang on - that was someone else easy smooth transaction with the item arrived at the speed of an arrow with a jet engine attached (and a guidance system too obviously)
  10. can anyone tell me - Rothko, northwet parts etc charge a lot of money for a rattle can of celluose lacquer. Thereis a car finishing place in sheffield that supplies cellulose car paint in 400ml aerosol is this the same stuff ?
  11. I didn't realise that buttah played - it would be rubbish at tag, it couldn't chase you or anything.
  12. mexican stuff is pretty good these days - I'm honestly not sure the US models are worth the huge premium for a handful of extra toys @andy67
  13. the first tune I played bass on, as an accompaniment - it just kind of gelled. It was after this that he teacher said "you're actually a bit better at this than you think you are" and made my day

I've been inspired by that video of Rutger Gunnarson playing Dancing Queen on his 61 jazz Having trouble with OneDrive so all photos are now attached - starting page 4
  15. One day I will have time for double bass
  16. I disagree - I just love the sound and feel, accompanied or not it took a squier vm p to change my mind but as soon as I’d sold it on for a fat profit (bought as “parts” and then fettled back to life) I put the money towards a Bass Doc precision
  17. @Deeper and down i recommend Folsom Prison Blues as its dead easy and you can jazz it up - I add some extra notes every fourth bar to make a "clack" effect like railroad tracks. Its the first song I played live and the crowd went mental. #satisfying Also Wicked Game - Chris Isaak - I have a homemade tab for this if it will help/.
  18. thank you but its little one's birthday and she loves hotels.
  19. you called Mandy a hoot above, and I, unaware of the advertising history of Paultons and its use of "hoot", assumed Steve Browning had missed his quote @Steve Browning apologies, my lack of knowledge there, you were not wrong at all.
